Do you think he'll be on the Olympic roster Per? I've been thinking about this lately.

I think so. Based on last season, he shouldn't be, but based on what we know he can do, he should.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 12:00 pmDo you think he'll be on the Olympic roster Per? I've been thinking about this lately.
And frankly, I hope the Olympics could be a game changer for him.
A change of environment, back to his roots. If that can nudge his mind back into the right focus, he can bring that back with him to Vancouver.
Get the monkey off his back.

Glory Days for Petey had, for the most part, Miller and Horvat joining him down the gut.
I don't see him accruing several 100 point seasons with the current state of the Canucks centre position, let alone forwards.
He is out against top top most nights.
I call BS on that one Per.
Sorry man...

Yeah, and if he repeats the 4 Nations experience where he ended up getting benched.....I don't want him bringing that back to Vancouver.
I think getting passed over will be a better kick in the ass for him.

Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Even if he doesn't score, he's got what you're looking for in a fourth-line center in a tournament like that: he's pretty good on the dot, checks like a demon, and throws himself in front of shots with reckless abandon.
And you have that katent scoring ability that, who knows, could emerge at some point.

Not sure if you are kidding or serious?
Why?
46% on face offs this year.

I'm seeing a much better effort from him in the dots the last few games. Seems to be getting better

Good....not to state the obvious but the team needs him in all facets.

Wasn't aware of the stats, but Donny has a point there.

The kid is just 26. He could play anouther ten seasons if his body holds up.donlever wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 3:09 pm Glory Days for Petey had, for the most part, Miller and Horvat joining him down the gut.

Markus Näslund did not have a 100 point season until he was 30. Same for Daniel Sedin. Henrik was 29.
Petey had a 104 point season at age 22.
I just can't believe that he peaked at 22 and never will reach that level again.
Most players have their best years when roughly 26-30. He should just be entering his prime.
But sure, who he plays with (and against) obviously makes a difference.

They need a couple top end fowards. Full stop. Maybe Cootes steps up next year and a guy like Raty takes another step. If it's Hughes or one of the kids + they deal for a true impact forward it could drastically change the complexion of the team.
Peter is doing way too much matchup work right now. Way too much.
