Barring the unforeseen, I think we can put a circle around the 30-31 season as an apt time to start to see this team competing. Management should have as much unencumbered cap space as they can by then.

It is to wonder what things would have looked like league-wide with regard to salary cap if COVID hadn't crushed revenues. Maybe Edmonton would have been able to buy the pieces they needed to get a Cup after all?
