I understand the leaves wanting Raddysh, but the sign/trade with a 5th just to get the 8th year makes little sense. Yes, Toronto gets their guy, but they would have likely grabbed him as a UFA with only 7 years (4 would have been the logical length) on July 1st.

That 8th year must be the premium needed to sign with the Laffs.

The Ottawa Senators will be trading their captain Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers, sources confirmed to Sportsnet on Sunday.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports the Senators will receive two first-round picks in this year's draft (ninth and 25th overall) along with a first-round pick in 2029 and a second-round pick in 2030 for Tkachuk.
