I understand the leaves wanting Raddysh, but the sign/trade with a 5th just to get the 8th year makes little sense. Yes, Toronto gets their guy, but they would have likely grabbed him as a UFA with only 7 years (4 would have been the logical length) on July 1st.

That 8th year must be the premium needed to sign with the Laffs.
