I agree.

Only reasons I can actually see for this move is that they have determined that Pettersson is a culture problem here, or they have determined that 4 years at $8M for a vet that was well liked by fans and most teammates is preferable to 6 more years of $11.6M.

Oh yeah, and obviously this move is made with zero retention and there wasn't a better offer on the table.

Final word on Pettersson, for me. Keep him ffs. Give him some wingers that can score. See what next year brings.
