It's a shame, given his past choices you pretty much have to assume Petterson won't waive during the season and so any trade is off the table until the offseason.

Trouble is, they'll hold the draft lottery during the playoffs like usual and we might learn the Canucks will be getting a fancy new winger for our top center to play with.

The draft will be in late June, pretty much the first chance the entire league has to do business - ie. a tight window to talk to potential EP40 suitors and build a list to take to him, since I guess we are going to have to grovel and scrape and hope he is willing to waive for someone who wants to give up value for him.

Montreal would be a pretty enticing destination (fishbowl but they have their young stars, he won't be The Guy), he signed here rather than stick to his guns and risk a trade to Carolina in the past but maybe the last two years change his mind on that front. I know LA has been bandied about and I absolutely believe Ken Holland would come to the table but you'd think anyone who knows puck would see them falling out of contention in the next few years.. I don't know what goes on in EP40's head but he doesn't appear to enjoy losing either, so that seems like a red flag.

Still.. if we can get a few acceptable futures packages that teams want to stable to a C (and cap dump), hopefully he's willing to accept something by then.

Solid contribution as ever dbrr.

I see the quoted comments as a bit counter-intuitive.

If the latter is factual he should be able to read the tea leaves.

So, if a deal like to Montreal as posted (or something to Carolina for instance) were to arise, where a chance to win for the foreseeable future did come to the fore, JP Barry would be doing him a disservice by not marketing the opportunity hard.

Well, we were told he signed the extension under something like duress - Rutherford telling him there's a deal on the table with Carolina and he's gone if he won't sit down and talk extension (after stating he would not do this during the season).

So I assume whatever human considerations - living out of a suitcase for three months in his new town, whatever - drove him to take that position in the past would probably drive him to do the same today.. and this time he holds all the cards, aside from a trade offer potentially coming off the table.

But yeah, if his agent knows what he wants and knows he'd consider waiving and the perfect deal is on the table you'd think he'd give him a call to at least discuss his options at that point - but Barry's public angle as stated on Donny & Dhali seemed to be that this is something you do after the season.

Yup...could be....Barry's spin to low end Podcasters is base level politics imo...

....means little and potentially holds minimal to no factual content.

Anyway...yeah...who the fuck knows?

Conjecture and shit shooting on our end...

He also has a wife to consider now. Who knows where she will want to live. Neither speak French and it is another Canadian city. Does she love America enough to want to stay in the States?

She still lives in San Diego.

That is the funniest part of his marriage.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Well let’s see what we can do to get the newlyweds closer together!

LA is the obvious choice. SLC is a quick flight, EP could be a nice fit with Keller. Similar ages!

Trade him to the Chargers. (San Diego still has a team, right?) He can suck in the NFL. Petey would make a great wide reciever :D

Anaheim with Carlsson would be nice but they have McTavish so nfg I suppose....

No room in SJ for him.

As dbrr says LA is potentially in for years of losing so if he actually wants to win an unlikely waive...

I like Utah.

Ryan Smith is a fence swinger....

San Diego Chargers do not exist Tciso.

I was just reading that Miller would consider a trade back to Vancouver. I think his family really liked it here and his did his best work here.

The most hilarious and beautiful thing would be that Petterson and he resolve their differences - the problem was really Quinn Hughes, or something— and they become linemates again and dominate the league.

Hard pass for the sake of our hockey talk message board Donny. I think a few people here would find me (even more) insufferable in that event.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

No to JT. This is a re-build, not a re-tool, or a re-tard.
