Quite the cheer.

Good number of Habs fans in Florida for the holidays.

Was loud when Suzuki scored the OT winner as well.

He had the game tying goal too.

I think Nick is going to make the O team.

Can somebody explain to me what the fuck is going on with Winnipeg? I haven’t been following them that closely. Should they not be better than currently sitting in last place overall in the league while at the halfway point in the season?

Helleybuck has played only 20 games.

Comrie is 6-8-1 with a 3.30 GA & a .886 save %.

Not the whole story but doesn't help....

Lowry had also been out for somewhere around half the year....

Thought they were a fairly deep enough group to withstand injuries. I don’t know, a bit of an eye opening drop off from last season with pretty much the same group outside of Ehlers.

This seems to be the year of adversity among a number of teams suffering from significant injuries woes.

Likely a correlation with the condensed schedule due to the Olympic break.

I think we’re seeing teams who let their stars walk in free agency struggle to fill the void left behind. Marner and Ehlers aren’t necessarily franchise players, but it looks like both Toronto and Winnipeg are feeling their absence.

GM’s looking at Winnipeg and Toronto after seeing what Vancouver did with Hughes may rethink how they handle those parts of their core who are coming to UFA. Maybe trades start happening earlier; stars traded relatively unexpectedly until you hear leaks from management that they weren’t convinced said star was going to re-sign.
Love the Sport. Love the Team.

Hate the League.

One common complaint I keep hearing of the Jets game this year is how much slower they are without Ehlers. Now one would not typically think that the loss of one of the games best skaters would have such an impact on the team but you have to wonder.

Marner is a peculiar player to me, I’m not a fan, he tends to not leave an impression on me every time I watch him but the leaves are definitely a different team without him.
