That would enrage the Dude, Wiebo, Mëds, Hank and perhaps Don Lever. They hate that Scooterfella.
You're either trolling, lying, or just an obtuse moron.....maybe all three.

Nothing would make us happier than to eat crow on this.
Trolling.... perhaps. It enrages you. I don't lie so that's not a thing. A moron.... an obtuse one even? Yes you are unhinged. Take a vaycay to Prince George Mëds, you are pretty wound up.

I have no problem dipping your crow carcass in soy sauce while we feed it to you.

Cuz to AI.....

Hey ChatGTP, could you look at posts on CanucksCorner.com, and tell me how often Elias Pettersson (aka Petey, aka Scooter, aka EP40, aka The Alien) has been compared to Pavel Datsyuk? Specifically, I would like you to pay exclusive attention to posts made by the username "Cousin Strawberry".
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

It’s quite possible. There’s only one way to go from where he is at at the moment and that is ‘up’. But my question is - how far up does he go up, or want to go up, and can he sustain it, or want to sustain it? It’s all in the heart man.

If you Google it Mëds there are numerous instances where he was compared to the guy. I'm too baked to spend a half hour one finger typing through my phone so you're just gonna have to take my word for it if you also don't feel like googling away

It's a laze off and I am born for this

Ok fuck...

:scowl:
Pettersson’s magic hands make for an easy comparison to the Magic Man: Pavel Datsyuk. Barber isn’t the first to make the comparison — even Brock Boeser called Pettersson “mini-Pavel” at one point — and it’s not just his handles, but his commitment to the defensive side of the game that draws parallels. Still, it’s the stickhandling that sticks in the memory when you think of Datsyuk’s game.

“I'd say Petterson is the closest thing to Datsyuk for a lot of skills,” said Barber. “He even moves like him. He's creative and he can be in weird situations and find creative solutions. That was Datsyuk's style for sure. He's also very good on his cutback moves which creates a lot of distance.”

Barber was quick to note that no one, not even Pettersson, can completely encapsulate Datsyuk’s game — “It’s hard to fully replicate a god,” he joked — but said that Pettersson comes about as close as you can get.

There's a few with sore paws that are broken hearted that they traded JT. We hope they return one day.

All good posters and good Canucks fans.

Lancer wrote: Mon Jun 16, 2025 10:23 am Preliminary Olympic Team lists were released today, and both Hronek and Pettersson weren't on those lists. Not to say they won't eventually end up on their national squads, but their absences were noted.

While Hronek's spot on the team, barring any injuries, looks solid I think Sweden's national team is waiting and seeing which Petey will show up. I wouldn't be surprised if Pettersson has lost some shine with Sweden's hockey leadership. Half the Vancouver fan base has given up on him; the NHL media environment has gleefully reported on his fall from grace and has labelled him a distressed asset; but what what is the perception of him among Swedish hockey fans?

I wonder what insight Per could offer on this matter?
They've only named six players so far:

Gabriel Landeskog
Rasmus Dahlin
Victor Hedman
Adrian Kempe
Lucas Raymond
William Nylander

Landeskog is a bit of a gamble, considering that he has missed nearly two seasons of hockey.

I'm pretty sure they will name more players when we get closer to the Olympics, as it would be rather daring to play a tournament with no goalies.
I think that they have to name six players this early is for marketing reasons.

I would be very surprised if Pettersson doesn't make the cut.
Assuming they go with 13 forwards, 8 d-men and 3 goalies, I have a hard time picturing him outside that squad.

Tracey Myers at nhl.com picked these 14 forwards for the Swedish team:
Jesper Bratt, New Jersey Devils
Leo Carlsson, Anaheim Ducks
William Eklund, San Jose Sharks
Joel Eriksson Ek, Minnesota Wild
Filip Forsberg, Nashville Predators
William Karlsson, Vegas Golden Knights
Adrian Kempe, Los Angeles Kings
Elias Lindholm, Boston Bruins
William Nylander, Toronto Maple leaves
Gustav Nyquist, Nashville Predators
Elias Pettersson, Vancouver Canucks
Lucas Raymond, Detroit Red Wings
Fabian Zetterlund, San Jose Sharks
Mika Zibanejad, New York Rangers

https://www.nhl.com/news/projected-swed ... 6-olympics

Sure, he failed to predict that they'd gamble on Landeskog, so not all of his 14 suggestions will make the cut.

The Hockey Writers predict these 14:
Adrian Kempe
Elias Pettersson
William Nylander
Jesper Bratt
Mika Zibanejad
Lucas Raymond
Gabriel Landeskog
Leo Carlsson
Filip Forsberg
William Eklund
Joel Eriksson Ek
Rickard Rakell
Fabian Zetterlund
William Karlsson

https://thehockeywriters.com/sweden-pro ... pics-2026/

So, yeah, they do go for the Landeskog gamble, but ditch Lindholm and Nyquist and instead add Rakell.

Either way, both preliminary squads I found online include Pettersson.
I'd be very surprised if he doesn't make the cut. We know what he can do.
Assuming most of the problem is in his head, playing with other team mates may break the spell even if he hasn't fixed it already by the time the Olympic tournament rolls around. And I hope he will be back to normal already when reporting for duty in Vancouver this fall.

I’ve taken my happy pills, all is well now in Canuckland, happy as a camper with this last season, 11.6 Petey is awesome, Team Sweden thinks so. #nocentres is ok, I’m ok with it. #tradepicks #throwawaypicks but our defence is good ! Love it!! #byeboeser #walkedtofreeagrncy #noplayoffs

Amen brother. This usually happens every year but I find it even worse than normal now.

I just usually scroll through most posts and only stop at the ones with thought put into it.

Sadly, I think it's a reflection of the current state of the (local) hockey media. It gets worse every year. This year might be the tipping point of "media outlets" creating their own news.

Maybe it's time that we start linking to each 'source' when we post a 'rumour' or fact? Thoughts?

Hard to post a link to a source - when it's your "father's, brother's, nephew's, cousin's, former roommate."

But honestly, maybe keeping it in house might be a start? Something like referring back to an original post when referring to something as fact so we can all determine if we think it is legit?

IE:

Petey is the next Datsyuk - Per UDL's rants

or

he is un-coachable - Per DieHard's friend

or

Petey is the worst hockey player current playing - Per Mëds' brain
