4 years in a row knocked out in the first round. That has to say something about the top of the lineup
Not to nitpick, but *technically* the leaves didn't make it to the 1st round this year, so their ten year tank n rebuild got them to three first round exits, time to start over.
Tuna, your thoughts?
I don;t care how much they make or what their production on the score-sheets. You can't build a team without character.
Creeps, pretty boys and prima donnas galore.
Is it the jersey? Is it the city? Is it the Omen? Torontolar degeneration.

I am inclined to agree with you, which is also why I've never wished Benning had drafted Tkachuk.
Toronto Maple leaves@MapleLeafs
The Maple leaves have acquired the Penguins' first round selection in the 2020 NHL Draft (15th overall), F Evan Rodrigues, F Filip Hallander and D David Warsofsky in exchange for F Kasperi Kapanen, F Pontus Aberg and D Jesper Lindgren.
Kapanen is just what Pens need. 24 yrs old. Be better off there. TO ripping away to survive.
Clears 3.2 million off the cap for Toronto and they get a first round pick. Solid move for them. I wonder what kind of pick Jake could fetch. I don’t think he’s a worse player than Kapanen

I agree its a solid re-building move, but certainly makes them worse in the short-term.
Its a little bit of a surprising move from Pittsburgh, but they have a history of turning 3rd-line wingers into top-line offensive producers with Crosby and Malkin.
Had it not been for the Tavares contract, they'd probably still have Kadri, Kapanen, and Brown, plus their own pick this year. Those three players combined for 115 points this past season. Kadri has more playoff goals than Tavares has scored in his Leaves career.
Is Dubas the man to lead the Leaves through another rebuild? Tuna, your thoughts?

I don’t think it’s a rebuilding move. They just wanted to clear some cap and got a high pick for a tweener forward. They have enough tweener wingers in the organization.
Rutherford has made some really dumb deals lately.

Trading a roster player for a pick isn't a rebuilding move?
Does it make the team better next year? If not, to me that's a rebuilding move. Not that it really matters one way or the other, but its kinda funny with all the ink that was spilled over whether Benning was doing a "rebuild" or not in his early years.

They cleared cap space and moved a redundant player for a high pick.Theyll spend the cap somewhere else

Penguins win the trade, they get a known quality asset, one of the fastest skaters in the game, while Kyle Dumbass gets a whole bunch of unknowns. One would expect, considering Tavares isn’t exactly a youngen that now is the time to win. But Dumbass screwed himself by signing a player he shouldn’t have - Tavares and gives too much to Marner (such an overrated player at his cost) Great steal by Rutherford, the 2020 first round takes a hard core nose dive after the 12th pick, it will be years until the Laffs know what they have with the pick. Years!!

Dumb post

The Laughs now have the 15th OA pick. I wonder if Dumbass is busy looking for the smallest kid they can find to draft....they love their teenie weenies
