The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.
What Trump and his minions tend to forget though is that a lot of the shit he spews and tweets is available for all to see.
So, straight from the horse’s (ass’s?) mouth:
He first talks about deploying the national guard, then at roughly 1.01:
”If a city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States’ military and quickly solve the problem for them.”
US military includes the National Guard... which, if you listen to everything Trumpy said/tweeted is what he was clearly talking about.
The lie that CNN told those generals... as mentioned in your CNN link... was deployment of active duty troops to quell protesters.
National Guard is a reserve component, not active duty, makes all the difference in the world, especially to generals.
Yeah, so those generals were responding to what they thought was breaking news... but yeahno, twas more CNN fake news.
Three different bits of fake news in one brief CNN article, they may have broken their own record on fakenewsing right there!

Or they could just do like in Britain and let the police patrol their districts with just a nightstick instead of a gun.
Might help save some lives.
Well it certainly wouldn't save any cops' lives!
Or are you one of the CLDM folk?
(Cop Lives Don't Matter)?
Just curious, do the citizens of Britain also have 400 million guns?

Nah, they don't need to, as the cops only have nightsticks.

Ah well that's rather sporting of them eh wot ole chum?
In recent years, roughly 85 US cops per year get killed through assault. That's a lot compared to civilised countries.
Used to be even worse though; it was really crazy between 1900 and 1940, and then another peak in the 1970's.

Just checked, 51 British cops killed in the line of duty since the turn of the millennium, so roughly 2.5 per year.
”When the police department sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re bringing violence. They’re bringing murders. They’re racists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
Trump’s Approval Drops To 39% In Gallup Poll, Down 10 Points Since May
President Trump’s approval rating has dropped 10 points since May, according to the latest Gallup poll, falling below the 40% mark, with voters giving him low marks on the coronavirus pandemic and, notably, the economy.
The poll of 1,034 U.S. adults, conducted between May 28 and June 4, gave Trump a 39% approval rating and a 57% disapproval rating, compared to May’s marks of 49% approval and 48% disapproval.
This is the first time Trump has been below 40% in a Gallup poll since October, when the Ukraine scandal, which would eventually lead to his impeachment, was first developing, but it’s higher than his lowest approval rating of 35% in 2017.
The poll comes amidst the convergence of the coronavirus pandemic, nationwide protests against police violence and a devastated economy with a 13.3% unemployment rate, all of which Trump has struggled to effectively respond to.
Trump got low marks for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, for which he garnered a 42% approval rating and a 58% disapproval rating, down from a 50% approval rating in April and 60% in March.
Trump also has a negative approval rating on the economy for the third time in his presidency and the first time since 2017, with 47% approval and 51%
KEY BACKGROUND
Trump’s poll numbers have been slipping throughout the coronavirus pandemic, a trend that was hastened by his response to the George Floyd protests. His approval in the RealClearPolitics average reached a high point in March, when he nearly broke even at 47.1% approval and 49.5% disapproval. However, his 2 point deficit grew to a 6 point deficit in May, which has now more than doubled to 13 points underwater. Trump has been slammed for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, which has resulted in nearly 2 million cases and over 110,000 deaths in the U.S., and his response to George Floyd’s death and the subsequent protests.
BIG NUMBER
33%. Just 33% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, according to a Reuters poll. 56% said they disapprove.
NEWS PEG
Trump’s poor approval numbers have bolstered Democrats up and down the ballot. Biden leads by 8 points in the RealClearPolitics average, up from 4 points in May, with the latest CNN poll putting him up 14 points. He’s also competitive in states that normally lean considerably Republican like Texas and Georgia. Meanwhile, Democrats have moved from being underdogs to retake the Senate to slightly favored, while they are solidly favored to keep the House.

Per, I'm confused as to why you have a problem with the part you quoted in bold.....are you advocating for anarchy and wanton destruction of life and property?

Threatening legal action against a news corp for publishing a poll?
Whatever happened to free speech? Freedom of the press?
This shit is getting weirder by the minute.
LMAO!
The leftists hate free speech unless it means everyone has to listen to them.
Look who treats their opposite counterparts with the most disrespect.
The media is by and large very left leaning.
The news media should also not be about free speech, they should be about unbiased facts. Instead they attempt to steer public opinion.
The number of times that major news networks have run false footage to try and underscore a point is sickening.
Any news outlet should be sued when they are presenting opinion as fact, and trying to influence rather than inform.....I don't care what side of the political spectrum they fall on.
