Yeah, I agree....and (having not watched the game) I was surprised to find no penalty was called.
Not sure how this doesn't fall under one of the leagues lame 5K fines at the very least.
I thought shots to the head were up for at least a 30 second George Parros death stare.
There generally speaking seems to be some weak narrative for league non response.
You're responsible for your stick at all times.
But not your elbow?
Check

Re: The Ref & League Discipline Thread - The Good, Bad and Ugly
It was a bullshit non call and yep nothing will be done about the hit. 4 zebras on the ice and no one saw it?
Re: The Ref & League Discipline Thread - The Good, Bad and Ugly
Look at the clip again Reef.
There is a ref standing right there, literally 3 or 4 feet away.
I guess frame by frame would be necessary to see when he turned his head versus when contact occured.
Butt (wot)...
It is within his purview to watch what happens there, not where the puck is headed.
The over the top ref has that mandate.
He throws his hands up as well, perhaps turning away from high stick contact I suppose?
Either way BS (as you say) non call both on the ice and by the league....

I did see the ref but he was looking away, not sure what they are instructed to do, follow the puck or watch the players? To me he should have been watching the play as the other ref and linesman can watch the puck.

I think increased accountability would help.
The refereeing team should have mandatory media availability, too. Have the clips queued up and ready to show in the press room, and ask them to explain calls and non-calls.

The elbow to Hronek is being looked at apparently…
Not that it changes anything…

Seems Sandlak has all the awareness as a ref that his dad has as a player.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

With no supplementary coming for that Russian, would it not be nice to know that we had a heavyweight and there is gonna be be a tilt the next time these teams play?
lol.. you all remember that time that Dickenson hit Chytil?? Remember the response!
…oh.. wait…

I was getting a little nostalgic for the Rypien days during the talk earlier this week.

As I have said for years.. this team needs a knuckle dragger.
There are a few ways to create momentum on you bench. A goal, a save, a grinding shift, a big hit, or win a fight. The players get excited over that.
We are missing one of the ways to create momentum.

Mayfield pushes Rantanen who then pushes Romanov.
