Apparently two years. That’s their window. $12.5 million. He can’t say he hasn’t given them every chance to build around him.

They have this season and next to win. I can’t see McDavid sticking around if they don’t.

Not a fan of him or the oil - but it's nice to see a player give a hometown discount to help the franchise compete. At least they know what their timeline is.

He is trying to win there, and setting himself up to get PAAAAAIIIIIIIIIDDDDDD in 2 years with the cap...

This is close to what I predicted (3-4 years with hometown discount) and I also predict he will leave for free at the end of it.

Doesn't make sense to move to a team that is decimated in trying to acquire you, if you want to win the Cup.
