I still think Cole Slllinger may end up here. I also want to see more of Raty and I hope they give him a punchers chance to succeed.
I agree on Raty. He's likely a #3C, with the potential to peak as a mid level #2C for a couple of years, before Cooter makes him expendable.

I'd offer him $3x3. That fits our budget (we need a little cap to bring up the farm kids) and doesn't hurt too much if he underperforms. And, if he shines.....we win for 3 years.

You think Sillinger has another gear or are you hoping he grows a pornstache like his old man in a Canucks uni? I’m not sure of what to make of Cole. Maybe not a bad idea as I imagine his price wouldn’t be as crazy like Guerin’s ask on that Midget Rossi.

I have zero interest in Roslovic. I’d rather be patient on Chytil and Raty, I’m tired of the depletion of our pipeline. The clowns need to put the brakes on dealing picks, if Raty and Chytil are dropping the ball then make a move around December.

In the absence of a home run, I agree with Dude. A little patience is warranted here. We don't know how Demko and Pettersson will bounce back yet. Give Raty some time. Give Chytle some time. Lets see how Kane fits. Let some of the kids see if they can fill roles.

If he returns to form as a top 10 center with Selke candidate defensive play while kicking in 30/50 on the stat sheet, we could once again surprise and challenge for a pacific division title. (If that seems too far fetched please see how we started 23 months ago....and no JTM wasn't the only reason they played at that level)
JT and EP were 50/50 on why we started the way we did 2 seasons ago. EP was 100% of why we slowed down in the finish of that year and 80% of why we ultimately lost to the Oilers (Demko was the other 20% dere).

JT and EP were 50/50 on why we started the we did last season. EP's failure to rebound after Miller's departure is all on EP.

So it is far-fetched? No. Having Pettersson plug at 1.0ppg while providing "Selke" calibre play would definitely be a difference maker. If he does that AND Raty and Chytil can give us 50 point second line production.....then sure, totally possible.

Patience yes. There are a few teams over the cap that will be looking for dumps end of August.. could be a bargain there if they wait.

The new era happened over night, quicker than quick draw McGraw or Doyle and his pizza stained shirt sleeves drinking a glass wine with his Sam Remo’s, a wine that should be savoured and not shot like tequila.

The pipeline hasn't had his much depth since Quinn and Penny were here. It took a while to clean up the huge mess that Lennie Small left. OEL Lennie's crowning achievment.

The 6 years of drafting by the Players Agent - Sir Michael Gillis will go down as some of the best pipeline stocking we’ve seen since ole Jake The Snake Milford…yeah, no. Certainly had nothing to do with what we’ve seen since Nonis was gassed.

In 3 seasons 2004-2007. 4 drafts, Nonis drafted:

2004 - Schneider - 26th OA
2004 - Edler - 91st OA
2004 - Mike Brown - 159th OA
2004 - Jannik Hansen - 287th OA

Nonis did better in one draft (2004) than Gillis managed in 6 drafts. Disgusting. And with not a pick higher than the 26th overall.

2005 - Luc Bourdon - 10th OA
2005 - Mason Raymond - 51st OA

2006 - Michael Grabner - 14th OA

2007 wasn’t a good class for Nonis but what followed after Nonis was let go, the following 6 years? We witnessed an absolute decimation of the pipeline, setting the organization back decades. Absolutely dreadful.

We have to remember it was Nonis who acquired the greatest goaltender (Luongo) in Canuck history, an asset ole baggy eyes used to acquire Markstrom. My god did the previous GM’s set up Gillis mightily!

Even though Nonis picks White and Rahimi were duds they were the right kind of assets for the Players Agent to land Erhoff.

It was also with the Nonis pick - Corey Schneider used to land Horvat which landed us Hronek. The pick is still paying dividends

I recall with acute memory how Gillis traded two start no. 1 goalies back to back with no back up plan. Hence, Elmer having to ink Miller to make up for the disaster.
