Did you know those other 3 guys lead Tanev by 2-2.5 minutes per game at even strength this season?

Yes they did play a bit more at ES. Who do you think played more often against the other teams top lines?

I'd say Edler, but dat dere was spread around pretty evenly among our top-4 over this season.

Tanev was carried mightily by Mr Hughes this season btw... his fancy numbers were horrific when he was sans Hughes.

Poster Dicky has mentioned this a few times so I did my own research to confirm.

I think if Tanev walks we drop down and challenge for a high draft pick.

I'm not. They need to resign Markstrom first and then clear probably $22 million to sign Pettersson and Hughes.

I would like to have Tanev back of course.

Contracts coming off the books before we have to pay Petey/Huggy:

Edler, Baer, Sutter, Benn, Pearson, Spooner buyout... and you know they'll do what they have to do to get rid of Eriksson.

The Roussel and Beagle contracts are easy to move in the last year.

There are no problems in here in my opinion.

What do you guys think of Radko Gudas as a potential rhd partner target for Hughes? He’s everything Tanev is but also he can beat guys up and insulate Hughes.

I don't think he's near as good a defender as Tanev but he is a tough hombre for sure. I want to clear room for Hughes and Pete myself. No add ons.

I’m more of the opinion that Tanev, this year especially, was entirely carried by Quinn. I remember luke Schenn looking like a top 4 guy when paired with Quinn, a guy like Radko shouldn’t break the bank and helps the toughness and the pk. I also don’t think quinn and petey are gonna be like marner and Matthews.

Disagree on Tanev. Ido think it's a very good thing that we don't have a geek like Dubas sitting across the negotiating table from their agents. That alone should save us a few bucks.

That is going to help the Tanman look better... although the effect may not be all that noticeable.

Also, the fancy stats say Tanev sucked covid balls when not paired with Mr Hughes.

Now, I believe in the eye test over the geek test for sure.

But in this case we have differing sets of eyes, and therefore it's okay to gesture a tad toward the fancy numbers IMO.

Late to the show but f*ck! was it entertaining. ^^^^

There are a few things Green doesn't get like Eriksson should have his butt parked in the press box more.

Shouldn't give post games when they lose cause he still says "I liked our game".

One thing that he's not receiving enough credit for: Putting Quinn Hughes and Chris Tanev together!!!!
It allowed both of them to apply the best of their skill sets. That was genius. Sure; Quinn is a superstar player on any team but it sure helped
having a true old school defender as his partner for a large portion of the season; (in my always ever so humble, never obtuse, opinion.).

This is a five on five or a less frequently, four on four, comment. Great they were basically healthy all year too. Probably coincidence mm?
