What do you guys think of Radko Gudas as a potential rhd partner target for Hughes? He’s everything Tanev is but also he can beat guys up and insulate Hughes.
I don't think he's near as good a defender as Tanev but he is a tough hombre for sure. I want to clear room for Hughes and Pete myself. No add ons.
I think it's a good idea so long as Gudas comes for less than Tanev currently makes.....and also going on the presumption that he is replacing a departing Tanev.
I'd rather roll the dice on the napkin than overpay for Radko Gudas. Napkin will come in for far less and likely be every bit as physically punishing. He would add that mobility and breakout pass that RG could never dream of being capable of. He can play both sides even. To me that's your Tanev replacement
I agree completely, I just worry green won’t play him on his off side.
So the top 4 would be Myers and Hughes then Napkin with Edler. Bottom pairing would be drawn from Benn, Rafferty, Juolevi, Sauntner, Teves...or am i forgetting someone?
Ya on second thought that D needs at least one more piece brought in for sure if we let Tanev walk
That doesn't look very strong BW, I cannot lie.
If they don't renew Tanev they must add something they currently don't have or have rights to. Tryamkin comes with no guarantees as a top four.
I think six--seven. Maybe he surprises me..
The biggest bonus in the whole world would be Juolevi breaking out of the cage of unexceptional attempts he's been mired in.

I’m more of the opinion that Tanev, this year especially, was entirely carried by Quinn. I remember luke Schenn looking like a top 4 guy when paired with Quinn, a guy like Radko shouldn’t break the bank and helps the toughness and the pk. I also don’t think quinn and petey are gonna be like marner and Matthews.
LMAO Schenn did NOT look like a top 4 guy.... he never has throughout his career. Fuck you’re hilarious
Look at his stats when paired with Hughes during that stint.
I did. I also watched him play. He had 2 assists and played 14 min a night. That ain’t a top 4 D man. Pls stop with the shitting all over Tanev. It’s getting old. I get not wanting to commit to an older brittle guy, but enough with the bullshit. ANYONE who actually watched the games would tell you he had a solid year last year. He’s still a solid 3/4 guy all day long.
Hughes and Myers shouldn’t ever be a thing. Hughes looked wayyyy better next to Tanev. Myers and Edler looked fine together though other than one bad patch and then they never played together again.

Solid 3/4 guys play more than 14 min a night. He had 2 assists in 18 games. They also put up more than 10 points a year. Stop already.... Schenn is BARELY an NHL player.
Then again a good chunk of this board thought Erik Gudbranson was a good D man so there’s that

I’m talking Tanev is a solid 3/4 guy paired with Hughes. The key part is he’s paired with Hughes. Didnt you like Erik gudbranson when he was playing in Florida?

I thought you were talking about Schenn.
I did like Gudbranson in FLA. Then I saw him here. He would have been a good player 20 years ago. Too slow now, and can’t read the play quick enough.

Excluding the super rookie, two of these guys get or have gotten heavy PP minutes. One guy has not. There’s where the minute differential comes in.
Oh, so... that... is why you agree with the numbers presented.
Did you know those other 3 guys lead Tanev by 2-2.5 minutes per game at even strength this season?

Yes they did play a bit more at ES. Who do you think played more often against the other teams top lines?

There's always hope Mick, but truthfully, Olli needs to pick up about three steps. He's slower than molasses currently.
