Big, strong teams tend to wear down smaller teams over long hauls.

We were 10.5 pounds lighter than the Bruins in 2011.
Maybe the Sedins learned from what happened to them in 2011. They saw firsthand what a bigger, stronger team can do to ya in the playoffs, so this is the the blueprint they are following to build their team.

Maybe their opinions on speedbagging have changed as well.

Is it like auto racing, where we get extra points depending on how long we hold the title?

Last game was ugly.

Diesel needs to ride the bench. He needs to be the backup. When the wings scored quick (and Lankenen gets scored on in bunches), the team deflated.

"We showed that we were a better team last year than what we’re playing right now.” - Brock Boeser.

He knows that they finished #32 last year, right?

Sounds like a disconnect to me.

Yep - also ready that they've had very few practices (maybe 6?) since the start of the season, so that doesn't help.

In other news, Diesel is now at 6.17

Sounds like Coach Manuel is only seeing half of the problem.

Which relative do you think we'll draft next after we finish last again?

ALSO: sounds like good loyal guy Brock is finally ready join Debrusk and quit this shit-show, return to the US with his new wife and dog. I would be happy for him. More picks RJ... and don't let FA into your office.

Heheh

Trumpy is buying Russian Diesel yugely marked up after they purchased it from Iran. Instead of giving it to American truckers at a discount, he's going to mark it up yugely to the Euros so they can use the Diesel to help Ukraine become a non-existent country faster.

Can't make this shit up.

Last year the Canucks finished with 58 points.

Right now they are pacing for 35 points.

Brock is right. They showed they were a better team last year than they are right now.

6 practices is not enough. They have to figure out how to get on the same page fast, and be competative, or he will lose the room quick and this is a wasted development year.

The plus in all this is that the new regime is getting an up close and personal look at who is who out there. It may take awhile still to get a market for any of our vets. But the longer this goes on the less we need as a return to move on from some of them. Cleaning house takes time.

Think it is funny that RJ said we need all these vets so we don't get our asses handed to us, or punched in the gut every game. That is exactly what is happening.

I advocate playing the younger Finn and let him have a run to see if he is what we need down the road. Buy out the older Finn when Demko is back. Unless you can trade him for a bag of pucks with minimal retention, if he agrees to waive.

Set up trade deadline deals as early as January if you can.

Speaking of feel good stories, never though DPetey was really NHL caliber but I have been impressed with him this season. I am impressed that he wants to be the next Luke Schenn and with his O abilities he is beginning to show.

I agree we are getting clobbered every game, but Vets can help youngsters get over the repeated clubbings. "look to next game", forget the last one kinda thing..

{edit} -- no buy outs of Diesel. We are better off riding out his contract, burying him in the minors when the NMC lets up next year. I dont want to be paying that prick in 2032 when we are trying to compete. Last regime made that mistake, this one better not.
