If it were a new management group I could agree and say this is a strong tear down of the shit show the previous group assembled.
Unfortunately RyJo and the Sedins were integral parts of that shit show.
What the fuck were they doing all those years?

I think you're attributing more agency than they had. RJ was running the AHL team and the Sedins were eviddently skills coaches.

What RJ was doing all those years was watching his prospects get manhandled and cheap shotted. The fact that he's drafting and signing muscle shows he didn't have much of a say till now.

I was quite worried that the Sedin 'turn the other cheek' style was going to take hold. So far, it's looking unlikely.

They had a front row seat to What Not To Do and learned from it. Same as RJ. They are evolving, and may become sentient even before Skynet does.
