Madcombinepilot wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 7:51 am Holy crap. A useful article from Canucksarmy this morning!

Ty Kartye from Seattle is on waivers. Slow skater who hits everything. 1.25m

We need to clear a roster spot, claim him, trade a couple dudes, then bring whomever we sent down back up. Need some plugs to fill the holes we are about to create with the trades that happen these next few days.

Tally Ho!! To the Wavier Wire!!
Yeah. We will need a few plugs once Kane, Blueger, Kampf and Boeser are traded. Maybe he can go to power skating skool this summer?
And Myers!! don't forget Myers!!

Friedman reporting that Dallas has now filed the official paperwork for Seguin being out for the rest of the season and playoffs. They now can take advantage of the cap relief as he will not suit up post season. Frees up a ton of cap.

EP, Kane and Myers for Emil Henning, Brandon Gorzynski a 2nd and a 3rd.

No retention.

Cup opportunties for Dallas.

Future for us.

Kings just axed their coach and named an interim.

With the injury to Fiala, and now losing 5 of their last 6 to fall out of a playoff spot, it could be they are recognizing that they don’t have the in-house pieces that would make it worth their while to spend more futures for a run this season.

TBH, at this point, I think it would be the height of foolishness for them to even consider a trade with Vancouver for Pettersson…..as much as I would like to see that happen.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

They have a quandary on their hands.

Ostensibly, I agree with what you say....

...but...

...they also just gave up their top prospect for Panarin and Kopitar (as we know) is on swan song status.

So arguably getting EP is something they actually should do if only because so many of their chips are already in.....

...although....

...also...Kuz tweaked something recently and is week to week at best I understand.

I read Kuz is week to week following meniscus surgery.

Of course mgmt doesn’t want to retain, but the longer they wait, the harder it will be not to.

Take back a garbage contract rather than retain, only way it’ll happen while still getting a decent asset in return.

Taking back a bad contract is what I think will happen.

Something like:

F Petey and Kane for bad contract, good prospect, a first and a mid round pick.

Does LA even have much of a bad contract we can take back?

They're paying 30 y/o Trevor Moore 4.2 for 2 years after this for 7 goals, 16 points and 6 PM's.

Not sure they have a lot lot of enticing potential return capital on hand so ditching the 11.6 boat anchor may have to satisfy us...

Yeah Moore might be the only dude we take back they don’t want.

Maybe a 5/6th pick for that.

Moore is more than just points as far as value to his team. Hes a dog on pucks on the forecheck. If you could get him for EP and there's nothing else coming back or retention then that's addition by subtraction considering how despised the pipe cleaner has become in Van.
