You bet, I have our package already from season tickets!

I'm sure BoS would be all in as well.

AaronP, you labelled Cootes as a potential 2/3 centre and looking at Cootes in the WJHC I would say you're probably right - if a little optimistic. He profiles as a Horvat-lite. Lotsa hustle; good two-way play by the eye-test; can put the puck in from the bumper; but not enough skill or skating to legitimately profile as anything more than a 3C with offensive upside. Horvat was better in board and puck battles at that age as well, though.

Still, if Cootes ends up as a 3C they could certainly do worse. If nothing else, he'd be cheap on that ELC.

I actually think Cootes may be a lot like Brendan Morrison, so really it will depend who he's playing with.

But having a defensively responsible centre is necessary for any playoff contender without question. He does have a good shot as well but he's likely to max at a 20 goal, 50 point guy.

And only about $11m less.

Be nice to have some talent on ELCs.

The Canucks had two players appear in today's top under-23 player ranking in The Athletic. 137 players were listed in the rankings.

Hopefully this time next year we have 5 players in that ranking.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

And plaster their likeness on the Rog. Otherwise who? Currently up there are Hughes (covered over with logo today), Petey, Brock, DeBrusk, Demko. If they follow through on the plan it'll be interesting to see how the barn will look like next year. Any guesses??

Mine is the same.

.....or Kampf (oh man I'd pay to see that).

If he can be better that Raty or Bluegers, it's a draft win already. Hell, if Cootes turns out better than Josh Holden Nathan Smith or Libor Polasek it's a win for this organization.

Probably doesn't even have to duck to meet those expectations, let's just duct tape his gloves on and he should be good!
