This may be closest to the mark in the big picture.

Sad thing is the one they kept - and the one who will likely cling to his NMC - is likely the problem.

I'm over it. Whether he was part of the problem, didn't want to be part of the solution or none of the above...at the end of the day the Canucks just boosted their youth and talent levels and are a better team than before the trade.

Rossi may be small but he's a fire hydrant. Buium isn't small he just isn't big. Ohgren is strong on the walls...the late 1st will be shipped I'm sure so what get back for that remains to be seen.
This ^^^ post ^^^ epitomizes not only fact but is also the only thing that matters now....

Teammates and outside media raved about one guy’s playoff performance. One guy returned unprepared the next season.

First guy with low EQ loses it and lashes out. Others were also disappointed but diplomatic.

First guy then says publicly, is open to make amends to make it work. Second guy refuses to negotiate. Him or me.

Management makes tough choice. First guy uses his NMC to go where his family wants to go.

We fucked super fast.

The End.

Just to add…

Great to see old posters like dbr return.

Great to see the quality discussion. Disagreements, sure. But very respectful nonetheless. Makes this dark time still enjoyable.

What I can’t agree with was that the Gestapo was ever a gentle policing force.

The two Americans that wanted out got their way. Good riddance. Demko, Boeser, and Garland want to be here and have said as much multiple times. Debrusk is in, Mysie, MP. Yet some fans want to chase these guys and Hronek out of town. You need some solid vets to insulate these kids. Its hilarious to see how divided this community of 30 gets on politics, management, either their lust for JT''s nutsack or their blind hatred of EP40. Lots of Americans have loved their time here so that is a really obtuse comment to make; that they all hate it in Canada.

Pettersonn is not blameless but you need to see how he will do withoutthe puckhog here. If nothing else rehabilitate his value before tou move him in the summeri if thatis the play.

I am not enamoured ith everythinng this management group has done but t's a damn sight better than the clownshow before. They have some blame here but most of it is on the petulant players that acted like entitled bitches. They make crazy coin to act like professionals and adults.

The dumb raisin and the idiot Baldy did pretty good and got out in front of this. What if Hughes blew his ACL like Mahomes before they could move him? I'm sure that would be on Rutherford too.

Move Sherwood, Forbort, Blueger, DOC perhaps... for picks. Maybe Kane. Pick to 5 -7 times in the top 64, including the top 3.

Mëds wrote: Sun Dec 14, 2025 8:10 pmIn general when a trade includes a 20 year old dman that guy is someone who they have given up on.
You’re not suggesting that the Minnesota Wild, owners of one of the best prospect pools out there, put one of the crown jewels of said pool on their roster, watched him play ~30 games as a teen and then “gave up” on him - are you?
No. I wasn’t suggesting that at all. The opposite in fact. I said in general when…..I meant that this trade was an exception to that generality. Which is why I’m more optimistic about it 24 hours later and given more info.

But I’ll continue to post vaguely if it keeps you posting even just for clarification sake. 😜
Damn Mëds you can be funny sometimes, I again really laughed at this as I thought some of your posts are vague and I don't get it but its probably me most of the time.
