White is the Colour, Soccer is the Game

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

White is the Colour, Soccer is the Game

Post by Carl Yagro »

How long will this thread last before it's pushed down into obscurity? Hope it's more popular than the old BC Lions one.

Can they slay the dragon tonight?

I wonder if this group has any original Whitecap memories.

Those would fit in this thread as well.....

....last "major" North American pro championship in this Village.

1979.

Muller apparently watched the documentary about 1979 on the plane.

I hope a German will liberate this village. Mein Kampf and Third Reichel doesn't look to be up to the task...

(Yes, I know Kampf is Czech)

Not really a soccer guy, (nor baseball) but will definitely root root root for the home team.

An added benefit (perhaps) to a Whitecaps win tonight would be the fire it could potentially light under Canucks ownership to actually bring something home as well.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Big win, really frustrating watching them play defensive for the last part of the game, zero attacking. I hate when any team in any sport does that as I find it usually backfires.

LA tied it up and it had to go to PK.

Whew! I thought this was going to be the quickest thread to be shut down in the history of CC.

Did we also get a red card just before they tied it up?

Didn't think they would slay the dragon like that, but I guess a win is a win.

Anyway, the village did not burn and the villagers live another day.

Yes a yellow and the 2nd so an automatic red card. Had to take it or the LA forward was going to get around him.

If they continued to play attack soccer instead of holding back they could have won in regulation. On to the final 4.

Wow, I heard they were down to NINE men and got it to the shootout.

Damn impressive for a bunch of villagers.

I just have to say... you think refs in other pro leagues are incompetent and corrupt? Nothing beats the MLS!

Documentary from a big Football media channel:

Pretty interesting facts about the Caps and how they affected the development of the village of Vancouver into the city it is now.
