Yep. All it takes is a headcase or two (affecting performance) to derail something good.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 1:17 pm I definitely get your frustration, Dude.
It looked like this group was finally putting it together and making positive steps towards some kind of contention window.

Im not referring to his body language or the expression on his face, I’m referring to his game this year in which it hasn’t been “consistently” what we are used to from Quinn, but as you said, hopefully it has something to do with an injury nag and not some kind of “frustration” with the “organization”.

He's done with the Canuck curse. He's not giving that extra 5% any longer
If you can secure top end 3-4 building blocks out of the trade then you have to pull the trigger. Hate to say it but this group will never become what is needed to win a championship. Might as well move out the assets to facilitate the rebirth.

But it comes down to them replacing managers when the results don't come fast enough (even though their apparent direct meddling is half the reason for the failures).
So there's no way the Little Eagles are signing off on a real rebuild.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 1:38 pm It’s the owners. Nothing seems to change per management group. Same old same old. I imagine we will be buyers this trade deadline as a desparation move to keep Quinn enthusiastic about staying here in which in the end after all is said and done it will be another wrong approach taken.
I fear we are in the position of Ballard-era Leaf fans. So the only potential thread of real interest is "Canucks sale rumour watch".

Re: Ownership and Management
It’s a business to the Aqualini’s bottom line. It’s season by season. Their mantra is to tease the client base ‘with a winner’ to get butts into seats to get the cash registers singing. They are loathed to considering a rebuild because to these short term thinking cowards that just means to them - less people coming to the games to watch a lousy product.
When Linden was once asked on talk radio once “why not do a rebuild”? He did not want to get into it and only responded with “we can’t”, kept repeating, “we can’t”. As Dave Nonis once said, “the owners have to sign off on a rebuild, that’s not managements decision to go forth on that, you need permission”
The team is obviously stuck in no man’s land while the Western Conference is in a transitional period where by teams that have been rebuilding the last 3-4 years are about to pass us on the Autobahn in our Volkswagen Beetles driving their brand new Porsches

Feels like they are going full circle back to when Patrik Sundström and Tony Tanti (Petey and Brock?) led the team to missing the playoffs every season between 1983 and1987.
Nothing changed until Pat Quinn was hired in 1987 and they drafted Linden at #2 in 1988.
The faster they tank and replace management the better.

That’s exactly the era this reminds me of. It actually could be a quick rebuild if they are smart about it, but I’ve lost all faith in that department.Picker of Cherries wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 7:01 am Feels like they are going full circle back to when Patrik Sundström and Tony Tanti (Petey and Brock?) led the team to missing the playoffs every season between 1983 and1987.

Sherwood is a UFA, if he keeps it up you might be able land a top prospect or pick with him. I see him testing the market this summer, so they need to consider peeling him off at the TDL.
They could get a haul for Quinn.

Sherwood changed agents heading into his UFA year so he's going all in on scoring a big daddy Warbucks wad
If you can get a 1st for him you jump on that
