Where are these rumours of trading Willander coming from?

Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
Not so much as a rumour as it is with what the “other” teams are wanting in return for what the Canucks are seeking. Rutherford and Allvin are in a pickle. IMO, the pieces to move are:
Scooter boo
Hronek
Demko or Silovs or Lankinen
Garland
Joshua
Sherwood
Mancini
Lekkerimaki
DeBrusk
M-Pete
The untouchables are:
Hughes
Willander
D-Pete
2025 1st
That’s if I was running the show
Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
My only untouchable is Hughes
Willander or D Petey or the 2025 1st would need to be part of a package bringing back a legit top 6 forward, IMO.

Don't do it. Teams always get squirrely around October 1st, and forwards will be available cheap.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!
Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
Part of why I said "legit top 6 forward." Also would come down to what exactly was the cost to acquire said player. I would be very hesitant to trade any of them though.
With these guys on ELC for 2 and 3 seasons that is going to be huge cap wise for the Canucks moving forward the next couple of seasons. They shouldn't give them away easily.

Hughes is untouchable “for now”
That could change if they get a sense at season’s end Quinn wants to test the UFA waters. I’ll be damned if we walk him to July a la - Flames did with Gaudreau.

I don't think he even knew what can of worms he was opening with that line. Then again, I'm not sure his brain was doing much when he said it.
The thing with Rutherford is you don't quite know if he's having a rambling senior's moment, or if he is sending out strategic messages with these lines.
He's great for the ink-stained masses who eat this shit up. I can't imagine he's similarly appreciated by his colleagues in the league.

It's a headscratcher at how many fans hear a "rumor" and take it as fact and then start yelling and screaming at management and ownership even though its just a bunch of BS...Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 4:58 pmHe was trolling the media and a lot of the dumb dumb fans. It's also just fucking obvious - who wouldn't want to play with family? I think it falls under the 'no shit, Sherlock' category. Could be here, could be elsewhere - who. the. fuck. cares?

55 years and it's still a very gullible and uninformed fanbase. Canucks Army has them at 8.5 cap space. They can likely trade a Hoglander for a 3rd somewhere and buy out Chtyl. Pretty small penalty. They have a gaggle of depth on D and things will shake loose on the trade market.rikster wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 5:04 pmIt's a headscratcher at how many fans hear a "rumor" and take it as fact and then start yelling and screaming at management and ownership even though its just a bunch of BS...Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 4:58 pmHe was trolling the media and a lot of the dumb dumb fans. I'd still like to see Tanner Jeannot here to smash some faces.
