Andrew Aggozino beats Silovs glove side early to make it 2-0.

Little Lekkerimaki is very ineffective against this big Tucson team and probably shouldn't be in the lineup. He's been demoted to the fourth line which spends it's time chasing the puck in the defensive zone.

Yamamoto m on a breakaway makes it 3-0 at the 19:41 mark.

Tucson goalie Jackson Stauber has been the story of this game so far. Running Silovs on consecutive nights looks like a bad call by Manny right now. He certainly faked me out by not going with Tolopilo.

Sushi boy had a couple of chances early but yeah, ineffective.

Karlsson finally got the Canucks on the board early in the third but Tucson took the game over from there and dominated the Canucks in the third period.

The third was probably Abby's worst period in a couple of months.

Tucson's softening up of the Canucks early paid dividends. Hats off to Roadrunner's coach Steve Potvin for a winning game plan. Momentum is theirs going into Saturday's game three.

Some thoughts re the decisive game three Saturday:

Dino Kambietz in for Lekkerimaki if Manny has the wherewithal to make such a move. The kid is overmatched physically out there and isn't shooting the puck, even with the man advantage. Dino's edge is desperately needed in this series.

Nate Smith in for Juhjar Khaira, Juhjar is slow as molasses and is just filling a sweater at this stage of his career. He is anchoring the fourth line, but in a bad way. The versatile, skilled Smith is significantly better and more valuable in this series and really should be in. Khaira is also a complete nonentity in the physical department these days.

John Stevens for Danila Klimovich if he's available, Ty Glover or Cooper Walker if he's not. Danila's tunnel vision and lack of sense is sticking out in these games. His scoring upside is a luxury we can't afford Saturday.

Kirill Kudryavtsev for Cole McWard. Kuds looked a little jittery in game one, but McWard was shaky himself in game two. Kirill is the better player and I'm betting on him bouncing back if he's in on Saturday.

Nikita Toloilo for Arturs Silovs. Manny's biggest mistake was sitting the red-hot Nikita in favor of running Arty in back-to-back games. Now he finds himself in a damned if you do/don't scenario with his goalies, but I would be reluctant to put it all on Silovs. I'm taking my chances with Tolopilo.

Manny has done an excellent job down in Abby this year, but I think he could use more experience at the AHL level.

I agree about Aqua looking for cheap coaching if he decides he can't afford Tocchet which is probably a coin flip at this stage. A rookie like Malhotra would come in his financial comfort zone.

But whoever it is, Rutherford and the gals in the front office haven't done the next coach any favors the way they have botched their roster decisions anyway. The Horvat, Petey mega contract, Miller chain of events has been a tragedy for fans.

Honestly, if I were them, I'd would be better off right now with a 1/2 combo of Miller and Bo. Yes, age was a factor in the decision but I'm certain Aqua would be thrilled with the ROI of these two contracts as opposed to the current single one.

As I mentioned in the other thread, a very competent GM, scouting and development staff could refill the cupboards very quickly and be right back into contention.
