Yep, same guy - Abbotsford traded for him from Syracuse a few days ago for futures. Need warm bodies down there with the recent callups maybe? Not sure I'd consider him "tough" after the concussions he received trying to fill that role for Edm, Chi etc.

Just another sign of Van's depth beyond a few prospects I suppose...

I think he's a pretty good player at this level Jello. I missed the two mid week games but he scored and played pretty well by all accounts.

And yeah, hopefully he can still add some middling toughness a la Sammy Blais and Dino Kambeitz.

My only issue is, the AHL really is just a development league for the NHL - why sign 30 year old players who will never again play in the show? My comment was more on the lack of options for the Canucks. They need to hold on to some draft picks FFS.

You need vets like Khaira to win in the league. Some teams have more prospects, some have more vets. But everyone has a mix to some degree. But you're right about holding onto our picks, God knows.

I don't know the rule Cousin Strawberry. But I'd be all for it if it's allowed. I know there is a roster freeze at the trade deadline, my guess is that it's not possible. He is a UFA though.

McWard and Klimovich are two guys I'd like to have a look at before the season is over. Klimo is a big guy who doesn't take any shit. He takes aome kind of a penalty every single time someone does something to him he doesn't like.
