Well, in respect to the timing of it, it sounds like the interview was done before the St Loo game.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:27 amHe didn’t do himself any favours at the trade table, Blob. Re: The Rutherford Media Bomb Wager
The only thing that could justify for me the bag of burning shit Rutherford left on Gary Mason’s front stoop is they have a good offer from a team that Miller won’t waive for. Trying to force his hand so to speak. I do believe it’s Miller they want to move, the room seems to be walking on egg shells around him, a stick of dynamite with a short fuse, we’ve all worked with Cats like that. But his NTC is probably causing problems in the offers they are getting. I believe the only reason they are open to trading Pettersson is because they are getting shit offers for Miller due to his NTC and it’s gotten to the point that the two can hardly co-exist. Rutherford is probably now trying to embarrass him, making it really uncomfortable for him in wanting to stay here.

So likely before the game. So the Dude's whining about the Genius spewing his yap after two wins doesn't add up to the smell test.

With all what Willander is witnessing unfolding before his eyes the troubled organization whom drafted he, the ringer his fellow Swede Petey is being rung through, one has got to wonder of Willanders desire to pony up here at seasons end. Do we see him holding out a season to test free agency? The optics don’t look good from where he’s standing. Not one bit.

More likely he'll see the lack of depth on D as a clear opportunity to play in the NHL. Maybe as a partner to Quinn. I think he'll sign.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 10:31 am With all what Willander is witnessing unfolding before his eyes the troubled organization whom drafted he, the ringer his fellow Swede Petey is being rung through, one has got to wonder of Willanders desire to pony up here at seasons end. This is exactly what he did.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:39 am Rutherford put it back on the bully and the baby.

The man is a genius.
He's probably frustrated with the offers from JTs approved destinations and going public with the shaming might stir him up enough to move anywhere
I still believe the Canucks will keep Pettersson and move Miller. QH and him have had a good relationship which is why he leaked his desire to stay in Van.
Na I believe the team will move JT and try to regain something that will be used to acquire his replacement

Also a shot across the bow to both of them, that there is a future where neither are traded and they have to patch things up as adults and play together.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 11:23 amThis is exactly what he did.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:39 am Rutherford put it back on the bully and the baby.

Not likely, and maybe it's the irrational optimist in me, but I still see a timeline where these two bury the hatchet - even if temporarily - for everybody's sake.
Quinn's not the GM, but management would be stupid to discount who Quinn thinks should go. Hell, ask the room who should go. If the motivation to trade one or both of them is to clear the dysfunction in the room moving forward, then consult the players dealing with the dysfunction.

Regarding Willander, the Canucks will just agree to 'burn' the first year of his 3 year ELC when he signs later this season. Just like they did with Boeser and Hughes.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 12:11 pmHow is Pettersson being treated poorly?Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 10:31 am With all what Willander is witnessing unfolding before his eyes the troubled organization whom drafted he, the ringer his fellow Swede Petey is being rung through, one has got to wonder of Willanders desire to pony up here at seasons end.
