Conspiracy Theory

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

According to our science, abiogenesis is impossible.

(as is travelling faster than the speed of light, a perpetual motion machine, etc)

And yet there is life on Earth.

Science can't explain it, but there it is.

The only logical conclusion then is divine intervention (a miracle).

So if one wishes to be a modern day man of science and logical

... one must accept the idea there is a God (or gods).

Convo started because Dude attempted to use science (math) to conclude there must be extraterrestrial life.

My response has been that actually, science proves just the opposite.

There is no scientific reason to belief extraterrestrial life exists.

But... IF... there is life on exoplanets it would be because God (gods) created it.

Science (math) has nothing to do with it and therefore Dude's rough calculations are completely useless.

And now you need to ponder on why God created YOU Horsey. :mex:

Or of course you can continue on in the darkness if that is your preference...

The only thing I am pondering is how science has proven that abiogenesis is impossible.

Care to explain?

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Exactly. It's like proving something doesn't exist.

Well good for you Jack! Whatever you do, do not EVER accept the possibility of a creator!

Keep on fighting the good fight ole bean.

Sure that makes you a closeminded schmuck, but dagnabbit there is a war to be won!

Sorry H, but I find the kind of attitude you display towards this subject both common and hilarious...

“how has science proven that abiogenesis is impossible” – Horsey

One could say science doesn’t prove things... really.

And yet it is correct to say: “According to our science, abiogenesis is impossible.”

Ponder that.

Science cannot begin to explain how abiogenesis could be possible.

(and science has tried really hard on this one!)

And yet here we are.

Thank God!

Again, Dude attempted to use science in regards to the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

And I trumped him. :mex:

The intelligent microbes on Mars are scowling in the general direction of East Abbotsford right now Doc (and Horsey)

For all we know those microbes created us

Lol Doc, if you can't back up your assertion then just admit it.

But congrats on your victory over the Dude. Well done!

... said Horsey as he passively-aggressively claimed victory over yours truly.

I never said "our science science has proven that abiogenesis is impossible".

Your words, not mine, and you did it twice.

Twasn't my "assertion", twas yours.

Too bad that you had to get caught, that's not like you to lose face.

So sad that you're not as smart as you thought you were in the first place.

But yeah, according to our science, abiogenesis is impossible...

According to our science, it's unknown whether abiogenesis is possible.

To be more exact...

Our science has done everything in its power to prove abiogenesis is possible... and failed spectacularly.

(science should admit defeat)

There are only two possibilities here, abiogenesis (spontaneous generation) or divine intervention by God (gods).

(Who would exist outside of space/time/matter one supposes)

Let's be honest, each makes his/her/its choice based upon something other than science.

“There are only two possibilities as to how life arose. One is spontaneous generation arising to evolution; the other is a supernatural creative act of God. There is no third possibility. Spontaneous generation, that life arose from non-living matter, was scientifically disproved 120 years ago by Louis Pasteur and others. That leaves us with the only possible conclusion that life arose as a supernatural creative act of God… I will not accept that philosophically because I do not want to believe in God therefore, I choose to believe in that which I know is scientifically impossible; spontaneous generation arising to evolution.”
~ George Wald

Chef Boi RD should have told us the real reason he made the choice he made

... rather than appealing to meaningless calculations.

At least ole George (God rest him, reminds me of Cypher) was honest about it lol...

If devolution is true are we not heading to a single species extinction and creation would be moot?

Yeahno, there could still be a myriad of reasons for the creation.

Louis Pasteur did fuck all.

Science hasn't figured it out yet so never will. Such a weak argument lol. To our descendants in 2000 years we will look like cavemen.

You already look like a caveman Horsey (if their were such a thing).

Wake the fuck up, they've done loads of experiments and study on abiogenesis.

And they came up with nothing.

But you won't ever check that out because you don't want to know.

You've made your choice and you don't want any doubts creeping in.

But I'm okay with that brah, I believe in freedom of religion, more power to ya...
