He couldn't set up a back door tap in while the fans were having a gay old time as the dyke burst on Bob without the usual Hronek/Hughes scissoring.

Man, I'm really impressed by this Vidal Sassoon kid. Got some hockey smarts and good wheels... like a poor-man's Manuel Malhotra.

A few comments;

Everyone hates playing with JT Miller and he's on the trading block because his team mates hate him.

$11.6M suckage resumes. He was a wimp out there. Did the TPuke kid say something to upset him. He was weak on the puck, limp on his passes and shied away from the boards.

Can Hughes skating get any better? Teams are gambling to go three on one against him at the point because he stick handles out of two on one.

Brock Boeser is the happiest to see his centreman back.

As long as team believe Scooter is a threat, the third and fourth lines will see favourable match ups.

Forbert out assholed the the Panthers.

A few more comments:

If the Blues game was an example on how the "big defense" could be beat, last night was an example of their value. The Blues are not the Blues of old; the Panthers play more like the Blues of old (with better talent). Maybe the lesson is "go big" when the opposition is excellent at crashing the net and "go more agile" when the opposition is trying to use speed first then possession. Or maybe its as simple as one night Soucy and Forbert play pretty well and the other night Soucy and Desharnais play poorly.

Atta boy to Forbert. Tough to be out so long and look decent when you don't generally look all that good when you haven't been out long....

Two atta boys to Sasson. He showed a lot in this game I haven't seen previously in any sustained manner. He's made plays before, but in this game he was buying time to make plays repeatedly. If you have the skill (and constitution) to hold the puck while the game's being played at an NHL pace, the world is going to open up. This can be especially difficult for guys in Sasson's position, because there is a lot of incentive and pressure to play a simpler game. Less risk of error playing simply, the hold-the-puck errors tend to be very conspicuous (and often lead to good chances against), and dumb stuff gets mid-tier prospects sent back to the minors. Also loved that he turned on the jets to win that footrace with a tired D. He read the situation and didn't hesitate.

Three atta boys to the special teams. The PP only had one chance, but they got it done in 7 seconds. The PK only had a couple of kills, but they were so very good in the neutral zone.

Four atta boys to Lankinen. Because he was perfect.

Surprised they won this one tbh.

Miller time.

The straw that stirs the drink.

Maybe Megs is on to something with Lankinen.

Yes, but Chef has another name for that - adjustments.
