Either way, it's a good thing that money has its limits on drawing votes.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

As something of a Trump expert I assure you... he's definitely trolling them.Topper wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 4:54 pm Word coming out on Dem finances (Chritopher Cadelago with Politico on X). ”My people” don’t believe in an afterlife.
Unless you mean After Life with Ricky Gervais; that was a pretty good series.

I like the Swedish system, where you need to pass a hunting exam before being allowed to own guns.
It’s a bit like a driver’s license; you’re taught gun safety, how to care for your guns and there is also some target practice with moving targets and you learn which part of the moose you need to hit for an instant kill.
You’re not allowed to drive a car without having been taught the basics of it, and I feel that having the same policy for gun ownership makes total sense. It doesn't really stop anyone from owning guns, but I’m pretty sure it reduces the number of gun accidents. And it prevents people who know nothing about guns from buying one on a whim.
Hunting is a huge part of Swedish culture. In rural communities pretty much everyone owns guns, and during moose hunting season many work places pretty much shut down. Some 40,000 moose are shot every year, more than in the rest of the world combined. Yet we have very few gun homicides. We only have like 130 homicides per year in total in Sweden, and less than half of them are gun related. Used to be even less.

In Sweden it is a criminal offence to interrogate journalists about unnamed sources.Cornuck wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 3:53 pm
[In reference to unnamed sources] “Go to the reporter & ask him/her who it was. If not given the answer, put whoever in jail until the answer is given. You might add the publisher and editor to the list,” Trump wrote on Truth Social last year. “Stop playing games, this leaking cannot be allowed to happen. It won’t take long before the name of this slime is revealed!”
Same goes for interrogating your employees to find a whistle blower.
It is important to protect journalism if you want to live in a democracy.

There is little journalism in the Western world, within the MSM realm, worth even discussing.

But todays journalism provide us fake news, biased news, opinionated news, conspiracy news, bullshit news, questionable news, lying news, trolling news, one sided news , narrative news….blah, blah, blah that the reader seems to want to discuss ad nauseam. We’ve all become morally bankrupt or corrupted by those hawking their wears on the meek whom end up harvesting the wherewithal (nerve) to feel that what we “choose” to believe matters most, over what others choose to believe. It’s a fucky divide.
Hey Trump, I’m ANTIFA.

Perhaps, perhaps not.
As with anything political (down there) it seems there are vagaries.
From the California sos.gov website.
How will I identify myself when registering to vote?
The voter registration application asks for your driver license or California identification card number, or you can use the last four numbers on your Social Security card. If you do not have a driver license, California identification card or Social Security card, you may leave that space blank. Your county elections official will assign a number to you that will be used to identify you as a voter.

Voting records of every single vote cast are available to campaigns and their lawyers, and in many cases to the public as well, however no review of this information has ever found a material amount of fraud.
There's no problem to solve here. Voter id laws are enacted to skew the vote.

We've circled back to where we always end up you and I 5th.
You continue to harbour faith in what I believe to be both a corrupt and entirely inefficient system whereby the information we are being provided is not skewed nor blatant lies usually if not always.
I have zero confidence of that.

True, but as I noted earlier in this thread, in California, first-time voters are asked to show id.donlever wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 9:51 am From the California sos.gov website.
