This was always going to be a tough go. Home opener, against a really good team who are coming off a disaster they want to rally around.

Van just doesn't need to make it easier on them with poor defensive plays... looking at you Hronek and Juulsen.. and bad reads by the forwards defensively... looking at you Blueger and Petey.

Is it me or has Petey’s skating gotten measurably worse. He’s Mr. Foatfooted, these days

The new additions have yet to impress the Chef.
It's two games in ffs. Lankinen and Sherwood look like dogshit to you? Jesus H this fanbase.

But hey let's champion for Noah Juulsen to play top 4 minutes and trash the teams most talented forward with names like Scooter Boy.

Juulsen is kind of an adventure out there tonight isn't he.

I think he's still movin' okay Chef, just seems a little aimless out there. Lacking direction.

I still think what he really needs is some couch time with a shrink.

Perry’s skating has always been bad. Strides from his knock knees. No strength on his edges.

I’ll clarify…..skating is bad for a player touted to be a top line forward with $11.6M.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Juulsen is a nice depth piece - but a deep opponent will show why he is a 7-8 defender. He doesn't do anything well, but is a gamer. Basically Troy Stetcher in a larger frame.

I think his ceiling is a RS Aaron Rome.

He has hit his ceiling. You won't see improvement from this player - he is what he is. A 7-8 on a playoff bubble team

Rome was a 6-7 on a contender.

Juulsen stinks most nights. Silovs looks good tonight. It's hard to win with 3 D with Myers laboring. I'm not giving up on the new guys yet but Myers needs to play with Carson . They will become a solid 2nd pairing again like they were last year. Replacing Cole and Big Z with Desharnais and Forbert is a step down.

We are the better team in the 2nd so far.
