Why do you care?
Because as a hockey fan I had high hopes for him
But you are a fan of USA Hockey
Not a fan, no. I’m Canadian through and through. Just have loads of respect as to how far Hockey USA has come

Are you as surprised as I am with Lafrenierre’s stinkiness? Not completely throwing the towel in on him but I do have a growing concern

There's a bit of a trend emerging where these top rated picks seem to become easily overwhelmed when they hit the big league right at 18 while the kids picked a half dozen spots later seem to strive to succeed and probably train 10x harder to achieve that goal.

There's just so few of them that become the Matthews and McDavids. Coupled with the lottery, throwing a season isnt worth it at all

Great observation. Unless it’s a generational McDavid Matthew’s type getting the first overall pick is becoming a bad omen instead of a blessing. The Wings IMO look to have the best player from the 2020 class and he went 4th overall. Jack Hughes won’t be the best player from his class and I guarantee you Owen Power won’t be from his class

Caught a bit of the Oiler/Preds game.

You know who I don't like?

Any of those Oiler twats!

I especially despise that smug, holier than thou Dave Tippett motherfucker.

Didn't like him as a player.

Didn't like him as a Stars or Coyotes coach.

Don't like him now.

Do you watch most games with a service dog?
He doesn’t stand out. He’s not an elite level talent, maybe Bo Horvat level at best
HF Rags fans:
Lafreniere was pegged by everyone as being an Eichel/AM34 talent. He’s looked like one of the worst 1st overalls of all time since he’s stepped in the league. Daigle, Yakupov, and Stefan have all outplayed him. He needs to wake up and at this point I doubt he actually does with us
Would trade Lafreniere or Kakko for JT Miller at this point
You can only win so many games in the NHL playing as poorly as the Rangers have. They are lucky to have 6 wins with the way they have played as a team. Something has to change with this line up. They are what 10 games in and nothing is changing in terms of a team learning a new system or cohesiveness
Apparently from what I am reading they are all over Gallant for his line combos and Panarin refuses to play with Kakko or Lafrenyay.

Maybe Gallant wasn't such a good idea lol
Maybe Panarin at $11.6M wasn't such a good idea either.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Pretty smart for Buffalo to take the Vegas package over the one rumoured from Calgary with Tkachuk.

So that’s why you pile on Canadian teenagers relentlessly? Not buying it.

Lafreniere is three years younger than Petterson. Little soon to write him off a couple weeks after his 20th birthday. The guy has played 66 games and has 15 goals. Not great but it’s a bit early for all the chicken littles.

Very smart. Matthew is a trouble maker that will only get worse with time. His rep with the officials alone is enough to stay away from.
