A Vancouver favorite if you are a Whitecaps fan.
I attended one of his camps 30 years ago, earlier this year (pre covid) I saw him with a couple other Whitecap alumni walking down the street. I should have stopped him to say hi.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

This goal though, scored in the very same game, is so much better. There is a reason people call it the goal of the century...

It's amusing to see England's suffering over the years, whether at the hand(s) of Maradona or the Germans.

Even better - being eliminated by Iceland in the round of 16 in the Euro 2016!5thhorseman wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 7:41 am It's amusing to see England's suffering over the years, whether at the hand(s) of Maradona or the Germans.
I mean, Argentina and Germany are objectively better football nations than England.
Argentina has won the world cup twice and has three silvers.
Germany has reached the final eight times and has won it four times. They also have four bronzes and one fourth place.
England has only made the final four three times. They won once, on home turf, after a very questionable goal - it’s disputed whether the ball ever crossed the goal line, and they finished fourth in 1990 and 2018.
That’s roughly on par with Sweden. We’ve made the final four four times and have one silver (1958) and two bronzes (1950, 1994) to show for it. Yet we don’t have the hubris that England has.
But Iceland!
Iceland has like 300,000 inhabitants. That’s not even enough for a proper city.
It was the first time ever Iceland had qualified to play in a major tournament.
10% of their population followed the team in place in France, and most of the rest gathered at that outside event with a huge screen in Reykjavik.
The screaming lunatic you can hear is the Icelandic TV commentator.
