Sit down and have a beer with Brendan Morrison as he shares one of his favorite Stanley Cup Playoff memories from his time with the Vancouver Canucks.

Canucks ruined Tallon and the irony is, the player that ended up having the best career out of the Tallon to Chicago deal was Jerry Korab and the Canucks lost his trade to Buffalo pretty badly.Micky wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 9:41 amhttps://www.citynews1130.com/2020/06/09 ... ars-draft/Canucks began chequered history at the draft 50 years ago today

I remember Korab playing with future Canuck Dennis Kearns for the WHL Canucks arch rival Portland Buckaroos. The Buckaroos had the twin towers of Korab and Rick Foley on the blueline as well as Kearns, Doug Messier and Connie 'Mad Dog' Madigan. Up front they were led by the great Art Jones along with the likes of Andy Hebenton and Cliff and Arnie Schmautz. They were our nemesis but we did manage to finally beat them in '69 and '70. Jerry Korab playing for Vancouver was before my time but I remember him with the Sabres and the Kings. Fuck he was a tough SOB. And he could play too.

Re: Past Canuck Players
Rick Foley was a guy I always wondered about actually. I don't remember seeing him play, we had only so much access back then, but looking at his stats he had pretty impressive numbers everywhere he played and had one partial year with the Flyers that looks great less the +/- so it's surprising he didn't get a real sniff after that. Maybe he couldn't skate at the NHL level or was a wingnut like Steve Durbano and nobody wanted to deal with it.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 12:11 amI remember Korab playing with future Canuck Dennis Kearns for the WHL Canucks arch rival Portland Buckaroos. '69 and '70 were before my time. I lived in Australia as a kid for a year around that time and we returned in time for the NHL Canucks to hit the ice. And then came the Vancouver Blazers. Saw plenty of their games.

He was a tough SOB and big, back then 6'3" was huge. Him and Bob Dailey could have been twin towers for the Canucks, Snepsts was coming up the following season too, and with the Sabres he sure didn't take any crap from the Flyers in the Final. I don't know what the hell the Canucks were thinking.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 5:33 am Jerry Korab playing for Vancouver was before my time but I remember him with the Sabres and the Kings.
