As you see from my previous post, Timrå is currently in third place, so even though they still have a theoretical chance of getting promoted (see above) that chance is rather slim.

Jonathan Dahlén is the best player of the league though, and really has no business playing there.

After 40 games he has 58 points (23+35) is a healthy +15 and averages 20 minutes per game as a winger.
Also leads the league in shots, 170shots in just 40 games... :o

He really should be in the SHL, because this league is no challenge for him, but I guess his ego got so bruised in Utica that he just wanted to backtrack and go back to where he felt safe. I still see him as NHL material, but he would prepare better for that by playing against better players.

---

Joe Cannata is a huge part of Björklöven's success this season.

The former Canuck has 27 wins and just 6 losses this season. 5 shutouts. A 1.53 GAA and a .941 svs%.

To make things even better, his backup has posted similar GAA and svs numbers (although typically at weak teams), so Björklöven are looking really steady in the crease. :D

---

In the SHL Anton Rödin is having a pretty good season with 30 points in 34 games (9+21).

Höglander has had a bit of a dry spell, but has 12 points (7+5) in 26 games.
Probably needs to spend another season at this level before being brought over.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

Is.

Is burning it up.

And yes, the level in Sweden’s second tier league is below that of the AHL.
Which is why I think it is a waste that he plays there.

He should be playing in the SHL, which imho is at a slightly higher level than the AHL.
Slightly different though. The skill level is higher in the SHL than in the AHL, but the game is also less physical.
Thus depending on the player, which league develops them better could vary.
I think the SHL would probably be better for Dahlén than the AHL, but the SHA is definitely not challenging enough.

So, two more goals tonight by Dahlén, which brings him to 63 points in 43 games (25+38), which of course is best in the league.
Meanwhile Adam Tambellini in Modo has a quite good 40 in 27 (20+20).

Linus Karlsson is no longer playing for Karlskrona. He is now playing for Karlskoga.
I don’t know, maybe he just mistead and showed up at the wrong place, right?
Anyway, the move seems to have been good for him. For one thing Karlskoga (currently in 4th place) is a better team than Karlskrona (in 10th place in a 14 team league).

Also, in Karlskrona he scored 22 points (8+14) in 36 games.
So far, with the goal he scored tonight, he has 11 points (3+8) in 7 games with his new team.
Now, I haven’t seen him play with Karlskoga, but I assume he has been given a greater role, or better line mates.
Regardless, seems like a great move for him! 8-)

Joe Cannata keeps standing on his head for Björklöven! He has played in 36 of their 43 games and has 29 wins, 7 losses.

Hoceyallsvenskan standings with 11 games remaining of the season:

1) Björklöven 100
2) Modo 91
————————————
3) Timrå 85
4) Karlskoga 82

Two teams will get to challenge the two worst SHL teams for slots there next season.
Björklöven should be one, and Modo probably the other, but both Timrå and Karlskoga could still have a chance.

Höglander has fallen of a cliff recently.

Only one point in the last five games and only given 10 minutes of ice time in the last two.

12 points (5+7) in 27 games (missed quite a few due to WJC and suspension).

Maybe he's hit a confused period in his development as many do when they seemed to get some big time media coverage.

Per; Dahlen and his rights are held by the SJ Sharks. The Canucks will not be attempting to give anything for him to take another chance.

Why then did you remind him... again.

Per doesn't complain about YOUR thread Mick.

It was settled very early in this thread that it is fine for Per to update us on Dahlen.

Sheesh.
