Something to pin on the board for QH for his first contract after his ELC.

Bob McKenzie back from vacay -
Werenski‘s deal is much more likely to be a catalyst for the Charlie McAvoy (BOS) and Ivan Provorov (PHI) RFA negotiations than it is for Marner or any of the RFA forwards, but the three-year bridge structure could be a critical factor in any of these RFA negotiations.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Anaheim, Carolina Discussing Justin Faulk
SEPTEMBER 9, 2019 AT 12:22 PM CDT | BY GAVIN LEE.

When the Carolina Hurricanes signed Jake Gardiner last week, speculation immediately erupted about the future of Justin Faulk. The right-handed Faulk has just one year remaining on his contract before hitting unrestricted free agency and was made expendable—at least on the powerplay—by the depth of the Carolina blueline. Now, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports that the Anaheim Ducks have had discussions with Carolina about the defenseman. Friedman notes that the Ducks are on Faulk’s no-trade list but would also like to work out an extension, and makes it clear that the deal is not done at this point. James Mirtle of The Athletic tweets that Faulk’s 15-team no-trade clause has been “causing issues” for Carolina as they try to move him.

One day he will be everyone's orange hero.
The American Meteorological Society issued a statement of support for the NWS, writing: “AMS believes the criticism of the Birmingham forecast office is unwarranted; rather they should have been commended for their quick action based on science in clearly communicating the lack of threat to the citizens of Alabama."

In his email to employees Sunday, McLean criticized his agency’s public statement, saying it prioritized politics over NOAA’s mission.

The NWS Forecaster(s) corrected any public misunderstanding in an expert and timely way, as they should,” McLean wrote. “There followed, last Friday, an unsigned news release from 'NOAA’ that inappropriately and incorrectly contradicted the NWS forecaster. My understanding is that this intervention to contradict the forecaster was not based on science but on external factors including reputation and appearance, or simply put, political.”

He also wrote that “the content of this news release is very concerning as it compromises the ability of NOAA to convey life-saving information necessary to avoid substantial and specific danger to public health and safety."

If the public cannot trust our information, or we debase our forecaster’s warnings and products, that specific danger arises,” McLean wrote.

As a result, McLean told his staff that “I am pursuing the potential violations of our NOAA Administrative Order on Scientific Integrity."

“I have a responsibility to pursue these truths,
” he added. “I will.

This is really terrific on Evgeni Malkin, and @Real_RobRossi might be the only guy in hockey media that could have written it, given his history with Geno. This passage is 🔥🔥🔥 https://theathletic.com/1192049/2019/09 ... ia-hockey/
