Shattenkirk doesn’t move the needle much in T Bay

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
I think he will. He was successful behind better defenseman, like Pietrangelo in St. Louis, and then disappeared when expected to be "the man" on his own. Playing behind Hedman, McDonaugh, I expect we will see him rebound. Maybe he won't be as good as he was in St. Louis, but at $1.75M he will move the needle more per dollar than plenty of other signings we've seen this year.

The Tiny Tea Leaves don’t have a hope in hell against the Lightning. #firecapologistgilmanMëds wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 4:24 pmI think he will. Agreed. Zero reason to bring in Stone. Stecher is a better hockey player at the moment and younger as well. Keep Stecher until you have someone coming up that makes him expendable. Tanev is likely gone to UFA IN 2020, which would make Myers the team’s top RH D man. Ya 29 years old and those last three years just kicked some serious ass huh? Trending well Huh?
Hey, when Stecher's contract runs out the end of this coming year, upgrade if you can, sure.
However, if Michael Stone is an answer, bringing back Guds would be what? Genius?
Biega is better that Stone at this point.
Even if you sign Stone for a million bucks, lol, good luck with that, my thoughts would be he has an agent,,
How do you punt Stecher? 2.325 left for one year.
Put him on the market Monday morning and I guarantee you can have a third but more likely a second round pick by the afternoon.
Nothing is going to happen and Stone is way risky; unlikely to make a come-back.

Top pairing next year could be Myers and Hughes. I want to see how they play together before I say yuck. Hughes setting them up and Myers releasing his big shot could work well. If Miller Pettersson Boeser Myers and Hughes have chemistry they could be a pretty good group of five to throw out there five on five or on the power play.

If Tyler Myers is your best RH D man .... yes, it’s yuck.
