yeah the Canucks just don't have the assets yet to make a trade of any significance. Hopefully Jimbro sits tight and drafts well replenishing the D this year. Hughes will definately help,Schenn has been a nice surprise, and Juolevi could take the next step if he can keep healthy.
It's all about the lowered expectations

We simply don’t have the assets to acquire another top pick, or not deep enough to make such a deal.

Tanev? No. Our D isn’t good enough to lose him for the wait of another prospect to develop

Demko? No. Markstrom gets injured we’d be fucked

Tryamkins rights? Wouldn’t get you much. A 3rd round pick?

Gaudette and live with Sutter until Madden? Maybe

Virtanen? No. He’s a bargain for us
What about Markstrom for 8oa and Russell's contract?

Two more years at $4mil is a lot more palatable than 4 more years of Lucic.

I wouldn't like to trade Marky, but he could be a valuable asset for teams desperate for goaltending.

He is going into the last year of his contract. What would you call it?

An opportunity for a huge raise.

This is what I was referring to. Don't trade the 10th, maybe a 2nd plus a player for Lucic, Russel and the 8th. Keep the 10th.

Only if they can trade Eriksson, can't have both Eriksson and Lucic on the team.

Lucic would also have to waive his NMC permanently as a condition of the trade.

It’s called dialogue. I’m speculating whether Iggy will be going balls out in search of a new contract. He can’t limp to the finish line with another 80 point season

True, but your obvious personal hope for Lord Benning's demise is stinking up the joint!

Can we dialogue about THAT?!! :D

I constantly have to bring Gillis up to remind Blob and his dingbats what the definition of a shitty GM is.

Blob is way off course on this front, and looks to be for awhile.

Ya but...

Gillis is looong gone and irrelevant in every way. The current GM can and should be discussed because he is in active control of the tiller.

I as well have to constantly remind the Swamp Monster and it’s fellow inhabitants of the horrid situation Benning inherited, and how dreadful it was and who was at the root cause of that situation
