Ollie has a strong camp, he’s in the starting line up next fall. It’s not a stretch...unless you still want to mad about not drafting Tkachuk, if so, pile on that Mt Everest of doubt, it’s hip.

I said he will need 20 games before he gets called.

Highly unlikely he can knock anyone off the team.
Give him a chance in camp Reef.
He will get a chance to succeed in camp. For the 4th year in a row

The hint of sarcasm indicates you may have prefered the team to have traded their first round for something as opposed to take it,

This has nothing to do about giving him a chance, I expect this to happen. We just need to keep all expectations at the right level especially if he does not have a good camp. Just saying give him some time to get his game going before we write him off or gift him a spot on the team when he may not deserve it.

Hell if he comes in an rocks the world and deserves the spot then that is the best outcome.

No it’s for the mouth breathers that blame injuries for him not making the team. He’s had three healthy camps and was never close to cracking the Canucks garbage blue line.

Yes, you said he sucks (paraphrased) and yes, it is the wrong thing to do...

Given the odds of a second or third round pick having a NHL career of any significance and the cost of a high 1st round pick, I've never understood the fascination of accumulating anything other than high first round picks. While some may advocate for gathering as many handfulls of shit as possible, it is more about plucking gems.
Tampa traded two of those picks for Ryan Mcdonaugh.

Tampa has long been considered a model organization. They draft and develop as good or better than anyone. Go have a gander at their draft record. They have a few 2nd and 3rd rounders helping out with the big club. More picks = more chances to draft a good player. Not to hard to figure out.

The whole age gap thing is funny. They could have found similar age gap guys on the waiver wire for the most part instead of puking away assets for these guys.

Yes guys like Brayden Point are polished turds for sure
Blob move this garbage to the Bubbles & Dud GM thread,

Tampa is trash in the post season, your "model organization" ain't won shit, with their 1st/2nd overall choices in Stamkos/Hedman,

just got swept in the 1st round by a team who just barely made the playoffs,

so much for your dream Tampa Bay team with the best GM in the world, the best coaching staff, the best drafting yada yada. lol

Benning has found some gems in the later rounds and outside the lottery zone - Boeser, Demko, Gaudette, Tryamkin, Woo, Madden etc. Just like Yzerman. Still doesn’t explain the Gillis drafting Shite Show that screwed this organization for years. This is what happens when you hire a players agent and not a true rink rat hockey man
