Silfverberg signs a new contract with the Ducks, 5 years at 5.25 per annum.

I work in the same office as his brother. I think he earns less than that... :|

He must love the area enough to want to put up with the inevitable rebuild.

Hagelin goes to Washington for a 3rd and a (conditional) 6th.
Hagelin must satisfy a games-played requirement in the playoffs and the Capitals must win two rounds for the Kings to get the sixth-rounder in next year’s draft.

1st round pick (if Duchene resigns in CLB)
Prospects Vitali Abramov and Jonathan Davidsson

To Columbus

Wow. Ottawa got something back which is ok. You can’t just let him walk. That whole trade blew up in their faces though. I wonder how he’ll like playing for John Tortorella

@PierreVLeBrun
Believe the full trade is: Abramov, Davidsson and a 1st RD pick for Duchene and Bergman. And a conditional 1st RD pick if Matt Duchene signs with Columbus

Sens vs CBJ should be good watching.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Not a big fan of this return for Ottawa given what they gave up last year. I guess they are trying to recoup what they traded for him which is hard to do, and if I was a Sens fan it sure would hurt seeing the Avs make their 1st round pick this year.

Now if only Jimbo would do the same and cut his losses on our good friend Guddy........

Nick Jensen gets a 2nd and Madison Bowey from Washington. Jensen is a solid #4/5 dman, nothing special, but that's a nice return for the Wings.

Amazing that Holland consistently gets good picks back in trades for average players - he's so good at it that in the past 2 drafts he's had an extra 7(!) picks. They need some help on their actual drafting, but Holland gets them a ton of ammo to use. Imagine Brackett with that many picks?

26th overall - Evgeny Kuznetsov
28th overall - Charlie Coyle
30th overall - Brock Nelson

Our GM after the trade was made - “we didn’t like what was up on board so we felt confident in making the trade”
25, 27 and 29 GMs passed on those guys

Gillis had a contending team and most contending teams trade away a first round pick for help, and most of that help fails to deliver a cup.

And, like others have said, that was 9 fucking years ago - give it a rest already

Forgot to mention, 21 picks in the past 2 and 18 picks in the next 2 drafts for the Wings. That's how you rebuild quickly, give your scouts as many shots as it as you can. My guess? The Wings will be a very good team again in 2-3 years.

Apparently Bowey is a real struggle regarding his lack of professionalism.

There is no such thing as the law of averages.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
