All joking aside, that was a huge character win by the Leaves.
Beating Edmonton should give them some renewed confidence. Its comforting to know you can (potentially) still compete with the Carolina's, Buffalo's and Arizona's of the league.
The last thing we need is Toronto or the Oilers getting McEichel. Not sure why their haters are revelling in their losses. But hey that is just me thinking ahead.

I guess it's cause we are never ever going to hear the end of other Canadian teams, especially Toronto who is Sportsnet/TSN/CBC first and MAIN focus to report on 24/7.
To those sports tv's Toronto = main bitch, Vancouver side piece. (I miss SportsPage)
So anyways hearing Toronto's sad sack of losing EVERYDAY and how pitiful their franchise is, is pretty hard to listen to non-stop.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
Let the fire sale commence! I don't want any of them on our team. It's bad enough we have one of their fans here
What's scary is, this is how you actually do it. They will sell out every game for the next 10 years while they are bottom dwellers.
They better not win the Cup before us
I also want to make very clear to them that we’re watching and that we’re on it. Whether we’ve seen good things or we’ve seen some bad things, they’re not getting by us. They’re not escaping us. We’re not going to be a group that is afraid to act if we feel that we’re going to be able to make ourselves better.
- Brendan Shanahan three days after firing Carlyle.
Well Shanny, what have you seen, and how will you act? I know nothing gets by you so...
Every time I look out my window, same three dogs looking back at me.
Well an article today said Shanny needed this season to convince the board that they had to do a total rebuild. Apparently he has now been green lighted to make whatever changes he deems necessary to start the rebuild. The message coming out of Toronto today is that they have finally thrown in the towel and are digging in for a 3-5 year rebuild.
But with teams being afraid of taking on too much term it may have to wait until closer to the draft.
