Re: 2025-26 Prediction Thread

Hughes is committed to leading Vancouver to a Cup. I can see him doing a McJesus as long as we are on the right track.

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

It is a clear message to Oilers management. I’ll take a hell of a lot less short term, use it wisely and let’s win a Cup. I hope they fail spectacularly. Any trade protection?

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

With Woo being injured Abby needs the righties. Maybe it was such a toss up between Junior and Mancini and he just fills a need on Abby more. I dunno. I thought he would make the team. Then again Forbert and that other guy are banged up and both Junior and Firbert can play the right side. Either way ...

Re: Canucks Pre-Season Games (Semi-GDT thing)

I would give Cootes his 9 games too and then send him back to junior. Did D Petey return after the hit by Podz last night? My understanding is yes, he is fine. It was the spotters who pulled him and he didn’t want to go. But as Foote said, the spotters did their job and it was the right thing to do. ...

Re: Canucks Pre-Season Games (Semi-GDT thing)

Just caught the highlights too. Lekkermaki has a wicked shot. It’s a waiver numbers game from here on it. I think he has done enough to make the team especially now that the Hoglander injury creates an opportunity. But, it depends on asset management and whether the Canucks want to risk exposing s ...

Re: Canucks Pre-Season Games (Semi-GDT thing)

With continued growth and development in mind both DPete and Mancini need to play imo. I hope platooning is not Management's end goal with those 2. Agreed. Junior showed last season he was ready but I think Mancini is too and he is a righty. If it comes down to one of them to start the season my ...

Re: Canucks Pre-Season Games (Semi-GDT thing)

They could keep Cootes around for a bit even if they don’t play him. Just to let him practice with the team and work on his physical development. Give him a taste. Foote said they will have almost a full roster so I would imagine one or two bubble players. Smart money is on keeping Mancini as he is a ...

Re: 2025-26 Prediction Thread

I give our guys a 50/50 chance to make the playoffs. Everything went wrong for us last seasons, but we only missed the playoffs by like 8 pts. Find a couple more wins and a few pts here and there and we would have made it. I think I'll be optimistic. Right now, I don't think we're as good as the ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

Rathbone waived by Sabres. Man our D depth is so refreshingly strong. Wouldn't the Sabres keeping Wrath Bone be more affirming of our D depth? Casting off our castoffs just affirms our decisions but says nothing about how strong the rest of our players are. If teams were keeping our castoffs, that ...
