How many Pettersson’s will be in Canucks line up next season?
Elias x 2 and Marcus ended the season in Vancouver, will all 3 be back? Can the Canucks resist the urge to acquire more, such as Jorgen Pettersson
Re: How many Pettersson’s will be in Canucks line up next season?
I don't think there is any question 3 is the number.
The two D stay and the forward, well, they made their choice.
Tocchet said today EP needs to learn to be better prepared.
Not quite a ringing endorsement for a 7th year player.
Plus with the reported oblique issues we are on what, body part #3 now that has cost him performance wise.
Understanding EP is a hot button topic point but as our pre-eminent forward piece the topic remains concerning.

Absolutely.
If they stick with him beyond July 1st, and he does not bounce back and become a play driving 85+ point center.....then this iteration of the Canucks is absolutely fucked.
I take heat for being so "down on the player", but I don't understand how fans of this team or so willing to gamble on uncertainties (both Petey and Demko right now).
I realize as fans we sometimes fall prey to "the grass is always greener" point of view, but that's not what this is about. It's about seeing trends and not wanting to risk the continuation with a potential franchise sinking anchor of a contract, the flip side of that is that we too often are afraid to make a change because of opposing "what if" sentiments.

Because the options are either believing that this a good gamble, or believing that the team needs a re-build (or a truly massive and sweeping re-tool), and since they know the Little Eagles will nix the latter option, they are psyching themselves up for the version of the 2025-2026 Canucks that they are going to get.

The question should be - how many Swedes will be in the line up next year?

EP40 seemed very aloof in the presser today. That contract is becoming more concerning every day. The other 2 are greatdonlever wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 2:03 pm I don't think there is any question 3 is the number.

We'll burn that bridge when we get to it

I call it the Pettersson times 2 rule.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 5:10 pm The question should be - how many Swedes will be in the line up next year?
Currently there are 3 Petterssons times it by 2 = 6 Swedes for next season.
Re: How many Pettersson’s will be in Canucks line up next season?
I voted for 2.
I suspect it will be D-Petey who gets shipped out as part of a package to land us a top-6 center......I mean, it's just the sort of dumbass decision this organization is notorious for.

Yeah, just fucking with ya.
I went 3.
DP has improved and has a skill set but also displays his warts and I do not believe to be well regarded enough league wide (as a central package piece) to obtain what we need.

Oh I didn't mean to imply you did.
