Is it just me or does 11.6 need to stay here to train if he's going to be committed. Something about being out of sight in Sweden seems wrong.
Until he trains in such a manner that those writing the cheque, which includes us btw, yes, this we can agree on.

Still not sure, if the alleged story is true, but, if so, why he wouldn't jump on his captains offer to join him is odd. If only for a 2 week span.

Seems a great way to both enhance off season work AND quiet the masses.

...and to build comraderie which this group apparently needs.

As a matter of fact it is well discussed that Nate flipped a switch early in his career with respect to diet, exercise and preparation.

Look at him, he's turned himself into a physical beast.
This here is a fantastic article on just that.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/nat ... %20partner.

One of the things about MacKinnon that stands out, and this is a product of both natural genetics as well as dedicated development of those genes.....the below is a snippet of the article about why MacKinnon is special (the entire thing is worth the 5-10 minute read though imho).

O’Brien always cites came during a running drill up a steep incline, an anaerobic test that leaves lower bodies awash in lactic acid and has a direct carry-over to the game’s fundamental skill. “It puts you in a biomechanical position very much like skating,” O’Brien says. In one session, MacKinnon ran 14.9 seconds. The second-best time was 15.9; others finished in the 17-second range. By itself, pretty remarkable, but that was only the start.

The rest of the field started to tail off as the reps went on. By the fifth or sixth trip, the other campers were dropping a second or more behind their best times. MacKinnon, though, didn’t fade — he kept clocking 14.9, again and again, like clockwork. “Only on the last rep was there any change and it was 15 flat or maybe another tenth, barely anything at all,” O’Brien says. “That hill-running drill, it just shouldn’t work out that way. If your muscle composition is built for power you should fatigue more rapidly than the average and if your composition is for endurance, you shouldn’t be able to explode as well.”

Given the choice of Column A or Column B, somehow MacKinnon alone can order up both.

Nate has a very special gift, but the key takeaway is the work he put in to be consistent at the pro level.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Not just you. Rutherford and Allvin said the same in their year end scrum.

...and it was intimated by Tocchet.

...and agreed to by Hughes with the offer to train with him.

Where did this supposed "offer" come from? As i recall, the end of season interviews included Quinn proclaiming Petey knows what he needs to do and has his own training plans.

Hughes old man runs a high performance training camp in Michigan every summer.

This is where the young Yankee group trains together that I listed names of earlier.

At year end meetings it was broadcast that Quinn had invited some teammates to join him there to which someone had reportedly declined.

I can't for the life of me recall where I heard or read it, one of the post season scrums maybe, not sure.

All the love (deserved) he's getting around here for his leadership skills (solid) his knowledge of the game (high) and his desire to win (massive) it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know he would have asked EP.

So talk was it was him who deferred..

Unproven.

Thus my "alleged" caveat....
