If you listen to all the noise around this, it sounds like maybe Willander isn't interested in Abby and if he can't see a path straight into the Canucks lineup next year he'd prefer to go back to the university for his junior year. I don't think it's a bad plan, he hasn't really been tracking as a two year college player. A dominant third year could really help his development.Picker of Cherries wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:53 pm Willander’s agent is Todd Diamond. He was the guy able to negotiate that great contract to bring Tryamkin back to Vancouver. Oh, hang on, that never happened, even with Dhali shilling hard to make it happen. Well, maybe Willander can enjoy another season at BU after all.
They do say that it is because of his skating and puck handling that has caused his shot to drop.Pettersson’s shot volume has cratered. In 2022-23, Pettersson fired 257 shots on goal through 80 games, an average of 3.2 per game. This season, he mustered just 109 shots in 64 games, an average of 1.7 per game. That’s a near 50 percent drop-off.

They have some videos of him in the past and he was SIGNIFICANTLY faster than this year. His ability to carry the puck has also changed to where he has become a dump/chase vs. using his skills to carry the puck.
Another point is:

We need EP40 to get his skating back and confidence.
It was a pretty good look into his issues imo.2Fingers wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 12:12 pm Just had a good read in The Athletic about EP40 and how bad his skating was this past season compared to before the all-star break last year. I took from his glowing admiration for JTMiller vs his lukewarm at best comments on EP40 as a peek into how this likely played out.
Shades of RJ Umburger. This is vintage Canucks.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 8:28 pm So the Aquas need to head out to the corner this summer and rent out their lawn for PNE parkers to cover the bonuses?
Great. Starting off on the wrong foot has always worked in the past for this franchise.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 8:29 pm A dirty, nasty, rolling in the mud, biting, eye-gouging brawl between Rutherford and Todd Diamond over 100 K.
