Blob would you trade 9 goals 8 assists $1.25 million Virtanen for 8 goals 9 assists $7 million Hayes?

No. I’m not down on Virtanen as much as most. You criticize the guy more than I currently doChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 6:20 pm Blob would you trade 9 goals 8 assists $1.25 million Virtanen for 8 goals 9 assists $7 million Hayes?

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Back to the Hall trade after the Chef rudely torpedoed another thread... I think the Devils did pretty good here. They got some decent (not great) prospects and a couple of picks for a guy who wasn’t coming back. I am curious if he stays in Phoenix beyond this season.
Honestly though I don’t hate the deal for the Yotes either. They didn’t give up any young core pieces and their system has a ton of depth. I would have worked Chayka for Lawson Crouse instead of three prospects. Maybe Crouse, Bahl and a 1st instead? Not sure the Yotes would do that. But if Robert Thomas was ever on the table from St Louis at all I’d be all over that from a Devils standpoint.

He’s 20 years old. He’s playing bottom six on a stacked team has a .5 ppg average at his age while playing sound defensively. Yeah he’s pretty shitty all right.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Arizona pulled it off while also being an above cap/ LTIR team.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 4:20 pm
Even if they had the prospect depth and 1st, there’s no way they’d have the cap space with all the deadweight on the cap.

Devils retained 50 % though. I’m not sure what Arizona’s cap situation is moving forward. I was just more commenting that the Canucks still have to think about the next contracts for Hughes and Petterson. And there isn’t a lot of relief coming off the books in the next two years. All that said Hall is a good player but I’m not seeing the fit here.ESQ wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 8:39 pmArizona pulled it off while also being an above cap/ LTIR team.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 4:20 pm

Ya video think I agree with your points, but I also think hall is very overrated.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 9:08 pm. And there isn’t a lot of relief coming off the books in the next two years. All that said Hall is a good player but I’m not seeing the fit here.
He's not a 90 point winger, he's a 60 point winger with top-line deployment.
He's not a 30+ goal scorer, he's a 20+ goal scorer who struggles to stay healthy.
I think he'd maybe be the 4th-best forward on our team, but his six goals on this season would put him behind Leivo.
He's not a personality I'd like to see in the locker room either.

Don’t listen Doyle. It’s all a ruse, he’s trying to find that common link in the Hall trade to “Bennings bad contracts” and “Bennings wasting of draft picks”

Happy this trade didn't involve Vancouver. Hall can snort all the shit he wants in the desert, and if Arizona wants to mortgage their prospect assets for a pending UFA well who am I to criticize a conference rival for doing so? I don't see Arizona being anything more than an also-ran in the Western Conference even with Hall, so enjoy the goals while they last in the regular season there, Tocchet.

'Signed in good faith' I like that turn of phrase.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 3:04 pmYou can have your wet dreams but this is obviously not Jim's style, nor should it be. Business is business but you don't go jerking someone around just to get out of a contract that was signed in good faith. At best Louie will be sent to Utica if there's an urgent need for cap space (trade) or roster space (everyone's healthy or we get a rental at TDD). At the current pace neither looks likely so it looks like us fans will be the ones who are miserableMadcombinepilot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 2:58 pmYes it is.Strangelove wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 1:58 pmStrangelove wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 11:54 amPlayers on (non-entry-level) NHL contracts cannot be sent to the ECHL without their consent. Team books every flight through Denver and Toronto, using Delta and Air Canada (worst 2 airlines ever!!- lots of fuck ups, cancelled flights and lost luggage) that mutherfucker will spend 3-4 nights a week in airports with the proper booking agent!![]()
Loui was signed to play a top 6 role, and produce as the perennial 20 goal scorer that he was. Under 2 coaches and 3 different offensive systems, he has failed to produce that for the first half of the duration (not to mention the first 3/4 of the pay) of that contract that he 'signed in good faith'.
How do you trade an asset like that? Sending him to Utica does not free up a single penny of cap space.
People are talking about getting rid of Green like that will solve our problem. between Loui and cap recapture, this team starts with about an 8 million dollar penalty every night.. it's amazing we can compete as well as we do, and are where we are in the standings.
Erickson MUST go before we can compete, or somehow turn his off handed casualness back into 20 goal form.
We are looking at wasting Horvats prime while waiting for Louise's contract to run out.
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

I see Blobbee’s Detroit Red Wings are leading the charge by a country mile for the first overall pick in 2020 with the Devils just around the corner from them. The Devils must feel that they don’t have enough first overall picks on their team - Hischier and Hughes. Yudels your thoughts?
