Current Director of Amateur Scouting for the Ducks.
Right there, the title in itself makes Eminem win the day for me (so do the nicknames/avatars).
THE most important M.O. for the next 5 years is to build a core through the draft. Who better than M&M?

I might be in the minority but I'd honestly prefer the media calling the shots over the clown(s) who's been doing it the past 20 years.

Yep, there are a lot of boxes to tick when it comes to a GM's role. I get that.
For me, only a few matter when it comes to the next 5 years. I don't give a shit if new GM gets some of the boxes wrong as long as he gets the priority ones 100% right. He needs to build a contending core with virtually nothing to start with, so D&D and finding creative ways to manufacture assets are what matter most. The rest won't mean shit if he can't achieve that.
Only a couple of the guys mentioned so far have a history for doing this, but are ones fans are hardly enamored with including the one we might've run out of town yesterday (to which I applaud). So, if it's not a failed retread, it's going to have to be someone with no inexperience. Why not the one who had a hand in putting together one of the nicest looking young cores in the League. Scouting decisions are going to be critical.

Would still like to see RJ promoted to the big club somewhere, if not THE guy, perhaps AGM or something. I just have a feeling there might be something there and this guy deserves a chance at something more, hate to let him get away elsewhere.
Plus the franchise could badly use some integrity to help scrape off the residual slime from the past regime.

I don't have an informed on this topic. My pick is the dude who is more competent than incompetent, and who knows we are at the bottom of a rebuild. Not someone selling the dream of playoff revenue next season, and a cup in 3 and willing to make shortcuts to pretend to get there.
But I don't know who that dude is.

I think RJ is already an AGM. I'm sure he's looking for something more than what he's doing and if Nashville is wanting him then he's gone
If you need air...call it in

A lot of very positive socials posts this morning on Gold being the front runner
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

They did the opposite for someone else a few days ago and that name has disappeared.
Possibly down to RJ, a geriatric protege but already on the payroll, vs Gold, new blood, respected around the league.

Re: Who Do U Want to See as Next GM of the Nucks?
Honestly, either would work for me for different reasons. RJ is more familiar with the waters he will have to negotiate with ownership and the various parts of the organization. Gold brings a fresh approach and a good body of work from Boston.
You think about it, RJ has paid his dues in this organization from Utica through Abbotsford to Vancouver. He’s seen it all with this club since 2013. He’s seen where Benning, Allvin and Rutherford have gone wrong. The hope is he took notes and lessons. The fact the Preds asked about him is an indication that he’s valued outside the organization as well.
Gold has his CV as well, and I wouldn’t be angry if he was hired, but if it was my choice I wouldn’t be angry probably go with RJ. Call it a vibe, a hunch or just the familiar-face bias, but I think he could be the guy this club needs to get back to the Finals - and hell, maybe win it.

This was outright denied. Do you have a link showing otherwise?
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

My bad. Going on bad recollection. So, we don’t know for sure what folks around the league think of him. I don’t think it changes my position vis-à-vis RJ/Gold.

Re: Who Do U Want to See as Next GM of the Nucks?
What I don't get is the negative association with RJ to TFG. He was here well before them and wasn't a hire, nor was he responsible for the outright collapse of the team the past two seasons. That's all TFG's doing. If there is an association I suppose it's that JR seems to love him, so that could be bit alarming. But to be honest, not nearly as alarming as any guy AIG loves. If it's solely their decision from no input from others they'll hire a bootlicker again, I can almost guarantee that. Because they tried it the other way the past 4 years and look what it got them. So I wonder if that's why they're hesitant on RJ, his character doesn't seem easy to manipulate.
I'm certainly open to Gold as long as he's got the balls to stand up the owners' whims. I can be sold on a fresh face from elsewhere. The only thing is Boston?? Wtf have they done besides being a model of mediocrity? Good enough to make the playoffs every year (no wonder they like him) only to get ousted easily in the first round.
I don't know, maybe there's something there. Nobody really knows but I do like the fact it seems the next guy won't be another team's failed retread and that's what I was hoping for. Talent evaluation is massive. If it's between EG and RJ that's what I'm looking at as an essential decision maker. Too bad the dude from the Ducks seems to be out of it.
