Who gets traded next?

Re: Who gets traded next?
Boston, Washington, Islanders, and Columbus all in the mix…..
Isles sit 3rd in the Metropolitan with 75 points.
Bruins are in the last W/C spot with 73 points but have two games in hand.
Columbus is chasing them with 70 points.
Washington is adrift with 69 points but have played 3 more games than Boston and Columbus.
It will be interesting to see what Allverford can do with that.
The Capitals would be smart to just throw in the towel. 4 points back with 3 fewer games remaining for an aging team, no danger of making a real dent in the post-season should the get there…..don’t burn futures just to get Ovi into the dance one last time.
In the West, San Jose is 3 points back of Seattle for the last W/C spot with 2 games in hand. Considering where the team is at, I think we’re about to see whether or not Grier has the patience not to slit his own throat. He just significantly overpaid Sherwood (both in AAV and term) after acquiring him, and now he’s courting another guy who will eat $6M x 6 in a secondary role. If he makes this deal they will have Toffoli, Garland, Sherwood, and Wennberg, all making $6M per when Celebrini needs his next contract. None of those guys are 1st line players. Even with them he will have a dump truck’s worth of cap space, but carrying $24M on your 2nd and 3rd line wingers seems foolish. Grier needs to switch tracks and address the blueline.

Garland to Columbus?

Sounds like for a 2nd and 3rd, I was hoping for a first.

Re: Who gets traded next?
Very underwhelming.
Making look like we made out as bandits in the Sherwood deal.

The only HW the Canucks need

2nd round pick is in 2028?! WTF?
Also, no salary retention. 3rd round pick is for this upcoming draft.

Re: Who gets traded next?
I find it hilarious that Allvin goes public about needing more fight from the players.
Meanwhile, management barely fights in trade talks and gives the other side everything they want without any real back and forth negotiations. Even the other side is shocked at how easy it is to rip off deal with Van.
Talk loud with media, timid as mice with other GMs.

Well, here hoping O’Connor and Blueger get more tomorrow. I do expect both to be gone tomorrow and Kane too. My expectation for Kane is a 6 or 7 rd pick with 50% retention.

Dickinson, Dach
Nic Dowd
Nic Roy
Apparently, all these bottom sixers are > Garland.
I wonder why these fucking guys re-signed him for such term and AAV? Anyone? Bueller?
This was the best deal out of the 6 interested teams? We are the Rodney Dangerfield of the league.

Re: Who gets traded next?
The important part of this trade is that I was the only one right in the poll!
Wish him all kinds of playoff success. It’s an underwhelming return but necessary before his NMC kicks in as he starts a 6x6m contract and turns 30. That’s a soon to be declining asset that you probably don’t want on a team that is just starting a rebuild and is years away from competing.

Re: Who gets traded next?
GM’s around the league are taking full advantage of the toxic mess that was allowed to fester a couple years ago. The Canucks management group is so desperate to turn the page that they have zero bargaining position.

Re: Who gets traded next?
Did Garland's agent make the trade, then just present it to those fucking guys?
All these trades, and Boeser's going to need some personal time off.

Ha ha
But 2028 is better, they will for sure be gone by then.
2027 would have been better.

Re: Who gets traded next?
Evander is still working on his own trade it seems... maybe the Baldies can assign Cammi to help Kaner with his homework?

Re: Who gets traded next?
Approaching 30.
Subpar production.
Entering pricey contract with lengthy term.
No retention.
While I agree with the general notion that these guys are weak negotiators, I don't think we could've reasonably expected more imo. While I've been clamouring for a home run for years from one of these deadline deals, I certainly wasn't expecting it from a Garland trade. Just take it and move on. At the very least there's still something to show for the OEL trade debacle.
