The entire Kraken team is struggling to score Mëds.
Their top scorer has 32 points.
Sometimes we have to acknowledge the process sucks.
We of all people should understand that....I'd swap Boeser for Wright in a NY minute.

I wasn’t even referring to a Brock for Wright swap.
I like Boeser better than Pettersson. But I also know that the latter is a more valuable asset, both to the active roster and as a trade commodity. I too would make that trade.
I was only speaking from limited perspective on character in regards to Wright and Petey.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

I’m gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you on that point. I can provide timestamps and author’s names from the previous page if you like.

JP Berry on the Pettersson rumours, from Canucks Army:
Barry mentioned earlier that the Canucks have yet to come to him or his clients regarding any potential trade, but he shared that it’s something he and Pettersson ( Myers) will have to consider if they do.
“Where it gets problematic is when things get public in that area, people think that the player should automatically waive to whoever they want to waive to. The reality is that when you have the leverage to have a no-move, you’re giving up a lot. You’re basically purchasing that for sometimes a million dollars or more. Okay, so the player retains the right to go to a spot that he wants to go to, and it’ll open up that kind of dialogue, but that hasn’t happened yet. But yeah, I mean, obviously, it has to be a location that works for both sides.”
*********
So sounds to me like him waiving is entirely possible, for the right spot, but that there has been no contact with Canucks so nothing should be considered imminent. He also mentioned he imagined it would be very busy in the off season for a lot of players who would have to consider if they would like to move on.
Similarly he said the same things about Myers. And for Myers it is more emotional because he has stated he wants to finish his career in Vancouver. But after July 1st Myers trade protection reverts to a modified trade clause.

On Myers…..
Sometimes it makes sense for an organization to respect a vet’s stated desire to finish their career with their club.
Not trading Myers next season when his trade protection opens him up to had the league, and possibly re-signing him on the cheap in the 6 spot for a season or two, sends a message to players that this organization does value loyalty and recognizes and respects time served.
Not saying you look a gift horse trade offer in the mouth to do so, nor am I saying you extend him with an unreasonable AAV.

Makes sense. If we get value back in any trade, for a rebuilding team, you do have to consider it. You balance that with the knowledge that that offer has to provide more to the organize than keeping Myers next year and beyond. So for sure if having Myers here for 2-3 more years on a value contract is far more valuable to the rebuild you go that way. But if the Canucks get offered high draft capital or a good roster player/prospect you have to take that.Mëds wrote: ↑Fri Jan 23, 2026 4:02 pm On Myers…..

Comparing the expected value of the return on a Myers trade to the message you describe, I think the franchise is better off with the message.Mëds wrote: ↑Fri Jan 23, 2026 4:02 pm On Myers…..

If the offer is amazing, obviously you have to revisit the calculation.
