Mismanagement....
What if.... the problem all along was Hughes?

The old man's supposed slip up when he blurted out about Hughes wanting to jet was by design?

And who the fuck wants to spend thrt much time with their brothers anyway?

That's just weird.

Fucking weirdos
I'm not buying its a management issue...with JT you've got to consider that he is playing on his 4th team and was dealt twice while being in the sweet spot of his prime years, once just 2 years after signing a 5 year extension, and his time in Vancouver was the longest spent in any organization ...

With Huges, we know that he desires playing in the East and is not the type who wants to be part of the solution but would rather play for a team that has already gone thru the dark days of rebuilding...

We are fortunate and I think speaks to what Hughes thinks of Canucks managment that he gave the team a 1 1/2 year headsup that he would be going to UFA , especially considering what happened in Calgary with their star players a few years ago...

As the rumors started to heat up and the reality that it might actually happen all I could think of was please let the return be better than what Burkey and Keenan and John McCaw Jr brought back after dealing Pavel Bure all those years ago...

From the reaction across the hockey world, it seems that given the situation management nailed it ...

Buium looks to be pretty close to the ideal center piece to come back in a trade like this. Maybe Edvinsson would've been a better choice (if he was ever an option) but these kids are all just finding their game so who knows. If you go by the reaction from around the league and wild fans, you can assume we are getting a bonafide blue chip asset back. That's great news for the future.

I just wish it was something other than Rossi as the C. He's so tiny and for a team full of tiny's, that's not ideal.

I'm pretty sure the impatience of Canucks ownership/management will get the better of them and they'll move that wild 1st for something sooner though. They can't seem to help themselves

Rutherford for all his warts ain’t no dummy, he has 40 years in. They read the tea leaves 18 months ago that Quinn wasn’t going to sign which led to Rutherford’s infamous “wants to play with his brothers” comment. They, along with ownership, spent the next 18 months trying to convince him to stay until Quinn made it official a few weeks ago that he wants out confirming what they knew all along.

Fuck you too, Hughes.

I’m going to give Jim and Patrick thumbs up on the trade, we were never going to win this trade, one never wins a trade involving generational talent like Hughes unless you’re trading a Tanner Jeannot (see what Tampa paid for him). Which is why I think we will do well on trading Sherwood.

I loved watching Hughes. Great respect and awe at what he does on the ice. But he didn't want to be in Vancouver. His right. Swedes are much more loyal!

So as it all settles down I find myself glad the drama is over and thankful they didn't drag this out until the TDD or heaven forbid let it drag into next season. The team can move on now. Others will have to step up to eat his minutes, produce on the PP and excite us in OT.

Once he made his decision known to the Canucks we really stunk. It affected the team, how could it not. Now he is to me just another Makar. A great player on another team that I dont cheer for. And I dont have to watch USA hockey kinda wishing him well. I won't.

Hughes is just another punk to me now.

Like HW said, glad it is over and the Canucks accepted reality and didn’t lose him for nothing.

Tocchet knew a long time ago as well, which is why he fucked off. Him, Miller and Hughes can all fuck of for all I care. No need to be politically correct here “oh, I love you Quinn, you meant the world to us, good luck in your next chapter”…as the great Logan Roy (Succession) would say - “fuck off!”

What the fuck is there to be loyal to?

Rutherford's senile mouth slurs?

Alvin's robotic abeyance to Geriatric Jim?

Scooter's determination?

Fucking losers.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
