How long have we all been doing this?

Re: Hughes Traded Thread
Goalies go on hot streaks. If either one of them looks like a brick wall heading into the deadline, I think there's a chance someone wants that one.donlever wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 7:46 am
I believe Demko to be untradeable at this time for anything of value so basically a money off the books deal until/unless he can prove he is not a walking (skating) hospital case....
Lankinen continues to be a thorn in my fucking side.
4.5 and a no move.
Where is he going?
(I assume Lankinen would waive to go to a contender, which would be the only teams that would be buyers.)
The return would not be great -- it seems to me that there's never a great return for goalies, even without impediments -- but at least they'd be out of the system.

DeBrusk
Sherwood
Kane
Hoglander
O’Connor
Ohgren
Right wingers
Boeser
Garland
Karlsson (centre/right winger)
Lekkerimaki
Left wing is stacked so one of (or both) of Kane or Sherwood need to go. Right wing is thin so Garland stays, for now. The centres stay. Walk Chytil to UFA after next season and is a placeholder for Cootes. Cootes to Abby next season.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Re: Hughes Traded Thread
Lankinen is a shrub.
He is to far overrated by some at this site (and by contract) for a 30 year old journeyman goalie with 180 NHL games on his resume.
There is a reason he was available last minute to us for a million bucks - because there was no league interest.
...and.zero reason (at the risk of being repetitive) for our glory boy management team to sign him to the deal they did.
They made flogging him that much harder through their idiocy.
He has become a do us a favour please chip in any trade scenario.
Favors cost, often with negative ROE.

That was a great haul for the Canucks. Now maybe they can play their way out of the basement and let the Flames settle back to the bottom where they belong (along with their upcoming 1st overall pick - McKenna)

You do realize I’m saying it tongue in cheek right?

Lots of arguments for Stenberg being the BPA at 1st OA. Have you been seeing what he’s been doing in the SHL as a 17 year old?Mëds wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 1:19 pmBPA.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 12:13 pmThere are 3 left wingers expected to go top 5 - McKenna, Stenberg and Belchetz. If I were running the Canucks and all things are as they are now I'd take Verhoeff and trade Hronek.
Draft high again in '27 and, if done right, start competing with Ducks Hawks Sharks Utah for the next decade.
